The Opportunity In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. What You’ll Work On Working under general direction, provides engineering, sales, educational and technical support in response to field inquiries from physicians, health care professionals, patients, and field sales staff, involving EP products. Performs work that involves a high degree of independence. Identifies and routinely uses the most effective, cost efficient and best business practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness. Exercises independent judgment in planning, organizing and performing work; monitors performance and reports status to manager. Acts as a clinical interface between the medical community and the business. Demonstrates ability to build and sustain credible business relationships with customers and shares product expertise accordingly. Provides engineering, sales, education and clinical support in response to field inquiries on as-needed basis. Demonstrates a thorough command of all EP products, related product and technical knowledge, trends and players. Develops, leads and/or facilitates trainings and other programs on EP products to healthcare professionals. Provides insight, guidance, and feedback to management on market feedback and components of next generation of products. Provides regional EP procedural case coverage. Provides additional back-up support to EP Sales Representatives in the following areas: Sales support; Regional training seminars; Clinical studies/data collection; Trouble Shooting; and, New product in-service training to physicians, nurses and sales representatives. Continuously develops engineering, sales and technical skills relative to the overall Arrhythmia Management strategy, including learning opportunities via Sr. Sales personnel and management. Assists Training and Education departments with advanced educational seminars, and the preparation of educational materials. Assists Sales with advanced product demonstrations to visiting physicians and sales personnel. Remains current on developments in field(s) of expertise, regulatory requirements, and a good working knowledge of company and competitor products, markets, and objectives as well as industry trends. Resolves and/or facilitates resolution of problems including identifying causes to prevent re-occurrence. Performs related functions and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Bio-Medical Engineering, related field or equivalent healthcare experience required. Requires ability to become certified on EP products. Requires a minimum of 6 months in Clinical Specialist position. Minimum of 2 years clinical experience (internal or external with industry competitor). Achieves or exceeds expectations in most recent performance review. Requires an average of 15+ cases a month for 6-12 consecutive months as primary mapper. Primary mapper on complex cases for 6+ months (requires a minimum of 3 complex cases over last 6 months). Demonstrate ability to increase utilization of Abbott Advanced Mapping and Ablation Tools. As a Business Development Specialist, you will provide excellent customer service, generate new business, and contribute to marketing activities. A DAY IN THE LIFE AT ARROWHEAD As a Business Development Specialist, you will not only provide excellent customer service but also generate new business and contribute to marketing and promotional activities. Commercial property and casualty insurance experience a plus. Business Development Management – 75% You will join forces with the Vice President of Business Development to generate new business opportunities and expand our customer base in the insurance industry. Analyze current customer accounts, establishing cross-sell/account rounding opportunities. Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers on existing accounts to deepen customer engagement and identify potential referrals. Generate new business leads based on lost accounts, industry listings, networking, and referrals. Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline opportunities. Collaborate with marketing and advertising teams to develop and implement effective sales campaigns. Manage a portfolio of lost accounts-identifying reasons for the loss and developing strategies to win back business. Stay up to date with industry trends and changes in insurance policies and regulations. Current Customer Management – 25% You will collaborate with our Customer Service Team to provide an outstanding customer experience focusing on daily policy management duties on an established book of business, such as: Review in-force policies and current customers to identify and implement ideal cross selling opportunities. Follow-up with customers regularly to ensure customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for cross-selling or upselling. Work with insurance company underwriters to receive timely and accurate quotes. Preparing renewal presentations + binding/reissuing policies. Responsibilities Conduct inbound and outbound calls to engage patients following initial delivery of medical equipment and supplies. Provide support with the proper use of medical devices and supplies offered by CCS Medical. Troubleshoot devices or supply issues via telephone and support patients through setup, data transmission, and early-use challenges. Onboard new patients, answer device-related questions, and identify barriers to product use or adherence. Schedule patients for ongoing diabetes coaching and education. Assist pharmacists and CDCES clinicians with patient surveys related to diabetes management. Educate patients on the reorder process and ensure proper setup for ongoing supply fulfillment. Screen for and route appropriate cases to Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists for advanced clinical support. Provide support on device functionality, CCS digital tools, mobile app usage, and program benefits. Accurately document all patient interactions and outcomes in CCS systems in a timely manner. Coordinate with Clinical Services, Pharmacy, and Operations teams to ensure resolution of patient needs and communication closure. Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance regulations. Maintain predictable and reliable attendance and flexibility to meet departmental needs, including evenings and weekends. Follow all CCS policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
