We’re delivering best-in-class innovation so that our more than 100 million customers can manage their finances with ease. We consider ourselves the bank a technology company would build—empowered to use artificial intelligence (from machine learning to generative AI) to transform everyday banking into real-time, intelligent products that help customers improve their financial well-being. We’re all-in on the cloud and are a leader in the adoption of open source. We build our own products and release them with a speed and agility that allows us to get new customer experiences to market quickly. We’re going boldly where no bank has gone before. And, as a founder-led company, we are centered in our mission to help customers succeed. The Role | General Responsibilities We’re seeking a Director, Analytics and Transformation, to support strategic priorities for the Consumer and Developer Experience (CDX) leadership team, this is an exciting space with diverse product responsibilities. The Consumer and Developer Experience (CDX) organization drives the critical platforms that power world-class digital engagement for our customers and best-in-class tools for the developers who build them. Our diverse portfolio spans the Capital One mobile app, advanced marketing and personalization engines, AI-driven platforms that transform how we build software, and essential enterprise risk and supplier capabilities. By unifying these consumer, developer, and enterprise operations, CDX accelerates our ability to modernize core systems, strengthen the company's risk posture, and deliver seamless experiences at massive scale. The Director will join a horizontal product and strategy team that supports priorities across CDX. The product and strategy team serves as an internal engine for both vision and strategic alignment, occupying a unique space at the intersection of strategic advisory and product creation. We operate with the rigor of top-tier consulting to solve the organization’s hardest strategic questions, drive the annual planning process, and align our long-term priorities. At the same time, we are builders: we act as an innovation lab, developing prototypes and partnering closely with product and engineering teams to translate conceptual visions into tangible, scaled digital experiences. We are looking for a leader who thrives in this duality—someone who is equally energized by big-picture questions about where the world is going, thorny problems that require a strategic mindset and close partnership with product and tech teams, and hands-on building. This Director will focus particularly on two priorities for the team: business intelligence and analytics, and organizational transformation. Specifically, the Director will: • Partner with CDX leaders to define the business strategies for their respective areas • Tackle thorny strategic questions throughout the business, using a consulting-style model • Lead priority strategic initiatives for CDX, such as AI transformation • Support the organization’s intelligence unit, providing analytics, landscape assessments, thematic deep dives, and more to help the organization see around corners and anticipate headwinds and tailwinds • Set the vision for long-term product innovation, including partnering with engineering to deliver product prototypes • Lead a fantastic team of strategy and product people leaders and ICs, investing heavily in their development and creating a pipeline of talent for the organization • Obsess about internal and external customer satisfaction by establishing trusted, close touch relationships with key stakeholders throughout the company • Cultivate a dynamic, customer centric and mission oriented Product culture, fostering collaboration, developing talent • Role model AI adoption by inventing and spreading solutions that improve work efficiency, quality, and fun The Person The successful candidate will be a great strategic problem solver with a highly collaborative working style. They will excel at building relationships across organizational boundaries and using their strategy toolkit to drive consensus and impact. This leader should have the ability to work through ambiguity with an owner’s mindset and to build product strategy and processes that scale and adapt with growth and market shifts. This leader will be in an exciting position to drive business results, shape organizational culture, and impact both the associate and customer experiences. Specifically, the Senior Director will have: • Exceptional strategy and strategic problem-solving skills, with a record of answering hard questions in ambiguous areas • A strong product orientation, including a record of understanding customers’ needs and working backwards to deliver experiences and solutions that deliver results for the customer and the business • An innovation mindset, characterized by a future orientation, the ability to set a vision, and a willingness to push boundaries • A record of outstanding people leadership, with a style that is collaborative, inspiring, and supportive • Exceptional relationship-building skills that result in trusted partnerships at all organizational levels, across organizational boundaries • Ability to establish credibility with the company’s most senior leaders and with colleagues from different disciplines (e.g., data scientists, P&L owners, designers, engineers) • Intellectual curiosity: an interest in understanding and experimenting with new leading edge technologies, organizational models, and ways of thinking • Demonstrated ability to employ judgment and experience to make rapid and complex decision • Highly effective communication skills (both written and verbal) Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree • At least 4 years of experience performing quantitative analysis • At least 4 years of experience performing qualitative analysis • At least 2 years of experience performing people management • At least 2 years of experience performing project management Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s Degree • 2+ years of experience in financial services • 1+ year of experience in consulting Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position. Lead Engineer - Stock Trading App

BjakAnywhereFull-time
View Job
Compensation$90K - 150K a year

Take technical ownership of complex products, design scalable systems, mentor team members, and ensure system reliability and performance. | Strong software engineering background with experience in production-grade systems, system architecture, technical leadership, and ability to work in a distributed environment. | About BJAK The original mission of BJAK is we believe people deserve smarter ways to plan, save and grow their money. This is the origin of our name. Started in 2019, we built the first mobile-first, insurance platform, enabling insurance to be accessible online by millions in the region. Today, its the leading insurance platform in Southeast Asia. Today, we are expanding ways to help people in the region — this includes spending, saving, investing, exchanging, travelling, and more. Our mission is help people get more from their money every day. We have teams working around the world, with over 20 nationalities from our offices and remotely, who truly enjoys their work. We are looking for the most talented and driven people we can find. We are looking for people who work for their passion, not counting hours. Who loves building great next-generation products, not status quo. Who cares about redefining how everyone around us can get the best financial applications, not for an exclusive few. The Role We are looking for a Lead Engineer to take technical ownership of complex products and systems and raise the engineering bar across the team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You will be expected to design systems, write and review code, solve difficult engineering problems, guide other engineers and drive major initiatives from idea to production. You should be comfortable moving between architecture and implementation — making strong technical decisions while still being close enough to the code to execute when needed. What You'll Own Lead the technical design and execution of major products, features and engineering initiatives. Design scalable, reliable and maintainable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases and infrastructure. Stay hands-on with engineering through coding, prototyping, code reviews, debugging and production problem-solving. Make architecture decisions and technical trade-offs that balance speed, scalability, reliability and maintainability. Break ambiguous product and technical problems into clear engineering solutions and execution plans. Set a high bar for code quality, system design, testing, security, observability and production reliability. Review technical designs and code from other engineers and provide clear, actionable feedback. Mentor engineers and help strengthen technical capability across the team. Identify technical risks, bottlenecks and architectural weaknesses before they become larger problems. Work closely with engineering, product, design and AI teams to ship high-quality products quickly. Improve engineering tooling, development practices and automation to increase team velocity. Own systems beyond release — monitor production, investigate incidents, resolve root causes and continuously improve reliability. What We're Looking For Strong software engineering background with significant experience building and shipping production systems. Deep technical expertise in one or more areas such as backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, databases or cloud infrastructure. Strong system design and architecture skills with experience making technical decisions for complex or high-scale systems. Strong coding ability and willingness to remain hands-on. Proven experience leading major engineering projects or providing technical leadership to other engineers. Comfortable reviewing code, debugging complex issues and working directly with production systems. Able to explain complex technical decisions clearly and influence engineers across teams. Strong product sense and ability to connect technical decisions to customer and business outcomes. Able to work fast with ambiguity and take ownership from problem definition through production. Strong judgment around when to move quickly, when to simplify and when deeper engineering investment is required. This Role Is Not For Engineers who want a leadership title but no longer want to write or review code. People who only want to work within one narrow technical area. Engineers who wait for complete specifications before starting. Candidates who over-engineer solutions when a simpler approach would achieve the outcome. Engineers who focus only on implementation without understanding the product or business problem. People who avoid production incidents, difficult debugging or ownership after release. Candidates who make vague claims about technical leadership without being able to explain what they personally designed, built, shipped or scaled. The Bar We are looking for technical leaders with real engineering career highlights. A strong highlight is not simply having a senior title or working at a famous technology company. A strong highlight means you personally designed, built, shipped or scaled a serious product, platform or system and can go deep into the technical decisions behind it. You should be able to demonstrate both technical depth and technical leadership — someone who can solve difficult engineering problems personally while making the engineers around them stronger. Location This is a remote role. We hire globally and work across multiple countries and time zones. Candidates should be comfortable working effectively in a distributed, fast-moving international team and collaborating with colleagues across different locations. Language English is our main working language across global teams. Strong English communication is required. Interview Process Our process is designed to move fast: Online assessment or practical task Technical interview CEO / final round For strong candidates, we aim to complete the process and make an offer within 1 week from the start of the interview process. Candidates who complete assessments quickly will be prioritized.
