In this role, you’ll get to work with Pinterest’s rich visual-text dataset to build large-scale generative models which are continuously being shipped to production to power visualization features. The core Canvas pod is a small group (~6 engineers along with a product prototyping team) inside of Labs, allowing for deep collaboration. For example, engineers working on the Canvas project also participate in the development of our core multimodal text & image embeddings, as these are in turn used to condition the model in unique ways. What you’ll do: • Prototype new model architectures for Pinterest Canvas, our internal text-to-image generative model. We’re looking for hands-on experience working with diffusion text-to-image models and independent model implementation skills. • Read research papers, participate in group discussions, and help brainstorm our overall visual generative strategy at the company. • Help with collection of relevant visual training data for Pinterest Canvas, particularly to conduct RLHF, targeted fine-tuning, etc. • Publish and publicize your work via conferences, paper submissions, blog posts, etc. • Mentor more junior researchers or research interns within the Pinterest Labs organization. Sr. Engineering Manager, AI/ML Serving Platform The AI/ML Serving Platform team provides foundational tools and infrastructure used by hundreds of AI/ML engineers across Pinterest, including recommendations, ads, visual search, growth/notifications, trust and safety. We aim to ensure that AI/ML systems are efficient, healthy (production-grade quality) and fast (for modelers to iterate upon). Pinterest is seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager to lead the team that builds the serving and deployment infrastructure for all AI/ML models at Pinterest. Systems include: Ultra-high-performance C++ model inference engine for production recommendations and content ranking systems. TorchScript + CUDA Graph models on GPU inference, serving 500+M inferences/second. Production GenAI & LLM model inference stack for emerging use cases. Model routing, deployment, monitoring. Kubernetes-based provisioning. As the Senior Director of Technical Program Management, Monetization, you will be responsible to execute Pinterest’s multi-year strategy to scale demand and deliver delightful, relevant ad products for users and advertisers. What You’ll Do: Own and drive execution of a 3-year monetization strategy to scale demand and improve ad relevance and performance for users and advertisers. Create strategic alignment and operating rhythm across cross-functional partners (Product, Engineering, Sales, PMM, Data Science, Design), including sequencing, dependencies, and shared accountability. Partner with Ads leadership, PMM, and Sales GTM to expand and adapt monetization strategy for international markets to ensure global product-market fit. Lead the Monetization TPM team to deliver full-funnel performance capabilities, industry-compatible interfaces, platform integrations, and AI-first tooling. Set and track KPIs/OKRs tied to business outcomes (e.g., ROAS, revenue) and institutionalize scalable experimentation practices. Remove ambiguity and unblock delivery across multiple parallel, high-priority initiatives; communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs with executive stakeholders. Build, coach, and retain a high-performing TPM org; standardize and elevate TPM craft and best practices across Monetization. What We’re Looking For: Strategic leadership & vision: Proven ability to define and drive long-range, cross-functional strategies and translate them into executable programs with measurable outcomes. Large-scale program leadership: Expertise leading complex, multi-quarter initiatives across highly matrixed orgs spanning engineering, product, and go-to-market partners.
