We build the brands people trust, the data our partners depend on, and the technology this industry runs on with exceptional people, not shortcuts. OpticOdds delivers enterprise-grade data infrastructure to B2B partners worldwide, while OddsJam and RotoWire put that same real-time intelligence directly into the hands of consumers. On the gaming and entertainment side, our portfolio includes some of the biggest names in the space: Gambling.com, Casinos.com, Spotlight.Vegas, and WhichBingo.co.uk. Our flagship sites reach millions of consumers every month. We're the first, and only, U.S. publicly traded company of our kind, and the first company to win EGR's Affiliate of the Year three times. We hold every hire to the same five standards: Taste, Agency, Speed, Craft, Responsibility. This is a high-scope technical role responsible for shaping the strategy and architecture behind our web and backend systems. You'll spend most of your time designing, building, and shipping directly, while also driving the technical direction across teams and initiatives. The core of this role is leading through influence and strong technical judgment, with scope evolving based on the needs of the team. You'll partner closely with engineering, product, and leadership to make sure we're building the right things, the right way, and moving fast enough to stay ahead. As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity and performance of OpticOdds' data platform. This role emphasizes engineering, building, monitoring, and improving the systems that power our real-time data feeds and APIs — from the backend through to the user-facing product. Our stack is polyglot — a Python/Django API and a fleet of Go services sharing a high-throughput PostgreSQL database and a RabbitMQ-backed real-time pipeline, all running on Kubernetes, with a React/TypeScript frontend. You'll be expected to design and evolve these systems, making sound architectural trade-off s around scalability, latency, and reliability. At the same time, you will act as a technical bridge to clients, helping them integrate smoothly and ensuring their needs are represented internally, this will take up about 25% of your time. The role is suited to someone who brings strong engineering fundamentals, is confi dent in debugging and designing complex distributed systems, and enjoys the challenge of working in real time with mission-critical data. You will report to the Head of Engineering and collaborate with product and sales teams to ensure our platform remains the most reliable in the market. RESPONSIBILITIES ● Data Engineering: Build, maintain, and improve the Python and Go services that process and deliver real-time sports betting data. ● System Design: Design and evolve scalable, fault-tolerant services and data fl ows, weighing trade-off s around throughput, latency, consistency, and cost. ● Frontend Engineering: Build and maintain user-facing features in our React/TypeScript application, surfacing real-time data in a fast, intuitive interface. ● Database Performance: Diagnose and optimize PostgreSQL query and indexing issues that aff ect latency and throughput at scale (e.g., query plans, indexing strategy, pagination). ● Monitoring: Proactively monitor live feeds and message queues to ensure accuracy, consistency, and minimal latency. ● API Engineering: Debug and optimize API interactions, ensuring integrations are seamless and performant. ● Client Integration: Provide technical guidance to operators during integration, ensuring our APIs are fully leveraged. ● Incident Response: Handle occasional after-hours issues with a focus on rapid resolution and root-cause prevention. ● Internal Collaboration: Represent recurring client challenges to engineering and product, helping prioritize fi xes and enhancements. ● Tooling and Automation: Contribute to internal tooling and automation that reduce manual support and improve system reliability. QUALIFICATIONS ● 4–7 years of engineering experience, with a focus on data pipelines, real-time systems, or API-driven platforms. ● Strong skills in Python, with a proven ability to debug and optimize. ● Profi ciency in Go for building and maintaining backend services (required). ● Frontend experience with React and TypeScript (Vite/Tailwind a plus), building and maintaining production user-facing applications. ● Demonstrated experience designing distributed, real-time systems — comfortable reasoning about scalability, fault tolerance, and architectural trade-off s. ● Solid SQL / PostgreSQL fundamentals — comfortable reading query plans and reasoning about indexing and performance. ● Hands-on experience with API debugging. ● Familiarity with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ/Kafka) and containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus. ● Sports and sports betting knowledge is required. ● Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage clients confi dently while collaborating eff ectively across internal teams. ● Self-starter who thrives in dynamic, high-growth environments. Compensation$120K - 180K a year

Provide technical leadership to design and operate scalable AI agent systems improving software development context interpretation. | 7-9+ years software engineering experience with proficiency in languages like Go or Python and experience in generative AI and context retrieval systems. | About GitHub GitHub is the world’s leading platform for agentic software development — powered by Copilot to build, scale, and deliver secure software. Over 180 million developers, including more than 90% of the Fortune 100 companies, use GitHub to collaborate, and more than 77,000 organisations have adopted GitHub Copilot. Locations In this role you can work from Remote, United States Overview GitHub is shaping the future of software development in the age of AI agents. The difference between a general-purpose agent and an expert is often whether it can find, understand, and apply the right context at the right time. One of our goals is to make agents more effective and efficient by default, without requiring every developer or team to become an expert in configuring AI systems. We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help ideate, develop, experiment, and build GitHub’s context layer that is part of our agent platform – this includes agent memory, search, GitHub graph, bringing the right context to agents efficiently and at the right time. This work will help agents use the context available across code, issues, pull requests, workflows, connected developer tools, and much more. It will also contribute to agentic experiences that can learn from prior work, make higher-quality decisions, and carry useful context across tasks and product surfaces. You'll be part of our Copilot Agents organization, working with a strong group of engineers and partnering across product, engineering, design, research, and data science. Your work can positively impact millions of developers and the AI agents helping them build everything from open-source projects to global enterprises. We are looking for creative problem solvers and diverse thinkers, people who care about culture as well as customers and features. We believe that how we do things is as important as what we do. Big vision, a common purpose, passion for quality, moving fast and learning quick. Great products reflect the teams that build them. The ideal candidate has deep experience designing and building agent harnesses, evals, developer tools, context retrieval, and has worked on one or more of information retrieval, knowledge or context systems, developer platforms, or production generative-AI applications. You can move from ambiguous product problems to clear technical direction, build end-to-end systems, and help multiple teams make coherent architectural choices. You learn quickly, communicate clearly, and combine experimentation with operational rigor. Responsibilities Provide technical leadership for systems that help AI agents acquire, interpret, retain, and apply relevant software-development context. Design, prototype, implement, test, ship, and operate high-quality technical solutions that scale across GitHub services and Copilot experiences. Develop platform capabilities and APIs for context retrieval, sessions, memory, agent customization, evaluation, and feedback-driven improvement. Turn ambiguous customer and product opportunities into clear technical strategies, architecture proposals, experiments, and executable roadmaps. Work at the frontier of how software gets built with agents and evolve workflows that make the whole team faster. Partner with product managers, designers, researchers, data scientists, and engineers across GitHub to connect capabilities into coherent end-to-end experiences. Establish evaluation methods, telemetry, and learning loops that measure agent quality, efficiency, reliability, and customer outcomes. Make thoughtful tradeoffs across capability, latency, cost, privacy, security, reliability, and developer experience. Own and advocate for the health and quality of the systems the team builds, including participating in first-responder on-call rotations and live incidents where applicable. Apply debugging tools, operational data, and structured experimentation to verify assumptions, identify bottlenecks, and improve system performance and maintainability. Provide mentorship, pairing opportunities, design and code reviews, and technical guidance that help engineers and teams grow. Help cultivate an inclusive environment where people are empowered, have clear ownership, and can do their best work. Drive executional and operational excellence within the team and influence engineering practices across organizational boundaries. Qualifications Required Qualifications 9+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python OR Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 8+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 7+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with information retrieval, context retrieval, knowledge graphs, semantic systems, personalization, or persistent knowledge and memory systems.
