About the Role Bonterra / NGP VAN — Fundraising & Compliance Engineering Team We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join Bonterra/NGP VAN's Fundraising & Compliance Engineering team. You'll help build and scale the tools that power how progressive campaigns and nonprofits raise money and accurately track and report that activity — work that directly supports election readiness and democratic participation at scale. Strong React experience including component architecture, state management, and performance. Solid backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript, including building and maintaining production APIs and services. Solid grasp of REST APIs and GraphQL on both sides of the wire. Production experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL. Familiarity with CI/CD practices using GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar. Comfortable working in AWS or a comparable cloud environment. Strong problem solving skills, high EQ, and the ability to communicate and collaborate well across a team. Active daily use of AI coding assistants like Copilot, Cursor, or Claude. This is expected, not optional. Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience building AI-powered product features, whether that's LLM integration, agentic workflows, or AI-assisted UX. Mobile development experience as a nice to have. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Familiarity with nonprofit or social impact technology. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
