QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience. Minimum five years of functional experience in data engineering. Minimum of four years of experience with coding languages such as Python, Scala, Java, SQL, and Spark. Experience using cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP. Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Azure Synapse, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake. Experience with ETL/ELT, SQL, Streaming pipelines and cloud data integration tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Informatica). Experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and data analysis. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, demonstrating proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and Infrastructure- as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates. Experience with Git, including code reviews, pull requests, and following branching standards such as Git Flow or Trunk-Based Development. Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) concepts, methods, and tools, and experience in unit, integration, and performance/load testing. Experience delivering scalable data solutions using programming languages compatible with BECU’s technical environments over the entire data lifecycle (from ideation to retirement). Experience leading and collaborating with teams, including cross-functional business units, to deliver solutions throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Desired Qualifications: Experience presenting technical topics to audiences, both technical and non-technical. Experience staying current with emerging data technologies and applying them in practical, real-world scenarios. Experience with master data (MDM), metadata, and data governance tools (e.g., Alation, Erwin, IDMC, Collibra, Azure Purview, Informatica).
