Assume responsibility, manages conflict within the group and provides final approval for entire project on behalf of all stakeholders; Troubleshoot project issues and escalate them to upper management if necessary. Leads lesson learned exercises and participates in root cause analysis discussions. Ensure that project information is communicated in a timely manner through communication planning, information distribution, performance reporting and administrative closure. Collaborate effectively with other project managers, various subcontracting partners, external consulting organizations, customer resources, contractor and other 3rd party providers ensuring the quality standards for the project are met. Facilitate project meetings including project kick off and specification meetings. Work in a consultative role with senior client management including CEO and project teams to ensure business requirements are met. Travel to client locations to meet and discuss specifications, business objectives, and project options; facilitate meeting with key client personnel including IT for network connectivity and file mapping. Serve as mentor for other Operational Services staff related to project management methodologies and best practices. Maintain interaction with credit unions, MasterCard, VISA and other processors, software vendors and ATM networks for the purpose of coordinating products/projects. Maintain thorough understanding of payment processing card industry, card processing systems and subsystems, and/or related in-house applications, and a primary understanding of system parameters, regional ATM networks. The Opportunity: We are seeking a talented Product Manager who is responsible for the tactical product management effort for various Velera products and services. The incumbent will serve as a liaison and subject matter expert to internal and external customers on Velera’s products and services. Product manager will handle efficiencies, monitor product compliance and mandates, analyze product penetration, define the market release process, and bridge the gaps between different functions within the company and aligning the strategic teams. Day in the Life: Lead the analysis and review product enhancement requests from various sources and oversee the creation of business requirements for these enhancements. Conduct and lead meetings to support the development process and track and communicate progress. Attend and participate in various Velera sponsored events and industry events, as needed. Serve as the primary liaison to Operational Support departments for assigned products. Maintain proficiency in departmental operations to assist as a backup for other products and services. Work as a member and/or leader of a cross-functional team that addresses the development and implementation of new and/or enhanced products and services within determined deadlines. Oversee and review mandate and industry product impacts. Partner with marketing to communicate internally and externally on pertinent bulletins. Use commercialization process to execute on system readiness with partners both internal and external. The Opportunity This position ensures the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of enterprise data assets by designing and implementing scalable data quality frameworks, monitoring systems, and remediation processes. This role supports business decision-making and regulatory compliance functions by proactively identifying data issues, collaborating across data domains, and driving continuous improvement in data quality standards and practices. The ideal candidate will bring an intermediate to advanced development level skillset, with the ability to navigate complex technologies, systems, data structures, standards, and best practices. They will demonstrate strong troubleshooting capabilities, a deep understanding of technical challenges, and the ability to implement effective enhancements. Operating from an enterprise-wide perspective, the Data Quality Engineer will deliver impactful data quality solutions independently and with minimal supervision. Day in the Life Lead the development and execution of enterprise data quality strategies, including profiling, rule creation, and issue resolution. Document and maintain metadata, lineage, and business rules to support transparency and governance. Foster and maintain high collaboration with team members, data owners, data stewards, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to define quality standards and metrics. Evaluate architecture and solution design artifacts to ensure appropriate data quality considerations. Provide conceptual and task-based training on data quality for other data practitioners and business stakeholders. Participate in communities of practice, committees and working groups to champion the enterprise data quality program and promote data quality best practices. Drive and meet commitments on project goals, objectives, and corresponding delivery dates. Monitor data quality dashboards and proactively identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and gaps. Ensure compliance with internal audit, security, and regulatory requirements related to data quality. Foster innovation to resolve existing challenges and to realize new opportunities. Provide internal and external thought leadership on data quality and related topics. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, related technology field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degrees or certifications preferred. Seven plus (7+) years of professional work experience in data architecture, data engineering, data management, or data quality program development required. Two plus (2+) years of experience with data quality toolsets (Informatica, Talend, Soda, BigEye) and the configuration and administration of such solutions to streamline and automate data quality functions. Knowledge of and prior experience with data governance frameworks such as DAMA, DCAM, CDMC or DGPO. Course work and certification in DCAM and/or CDMC preferred. Knowledge of and prior experience with industry standard reference architectures such as TOGAF, BIAN or NIST. Course work and certification in BIAN preferred Years of experience may be offset by having proficiency in one or more highly specialized technologies or skills. Expert knowledge of data catalogs, metadata management and data lineage. Advanced understanding of data engineering concepts and practices with experience in Databricks, Python, SQL and other technologies for data validation and automation. Advanced technical skills and knowledge in data warehousing, databases, ETL/ELT, business intelligence and data governance. Comfortable with cloud environments (Azure preferred) and big data technologies. Ability to lead root cause analysis and implement remediation plans Knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting data (e.g., SOX, GLBA, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, BCBS 239). Ability to manage multiple, concurrent efforts in a demanding environment and meet deadlines consistently. Excellent analytical and organizational skills and the ability to facilitate meetings, negotiate, influence, and build consensus. Effective communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills and the ability to liaise and work effectively with both business and technical teams.
