Support the CEO with executive communications, project management, stakeholder coordination, and strategic initiatives to ensure operational effectiveness.
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in corporate governance, strategic planning, marketing, or communications, strong project management and interpersonal skills, and ability to work under pressure.
Description: • Support the Office of the CEO in prioritizing CEO engagements, meetings, and initiatives • Prepare executive briefings, agendas, talking points, and presentations for the CEO • Ensure agendas and materials are prepared for all CEO and Velocity Team meetings; manage calendars and cadence leading up to these meetings • Develop and manage project plans that support the Office of the CEO’s goals and objectives • Monitor team bandwidth and resource allocation; proactively flag risks and recommend adjustments to meet team goals • Perform other duties as assigned to support the CEO and executive leadership • Draft clear, concise, and compelling communications on behalf of the CEO • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather input, feedback, and support for CEO-led initiatives • Partner with the Events team to maintain a comprehensive calendar of corporate and CEO events, ensuring the CEO is informed and prepared • Lead assigned special projects and strategic initiatives, working with cross-functional teams across the organization • Project manage team initiatives, check-ins, and follow-up activities to ensure operational effectiveness and accountability • Serve as a central point of coordination for cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment between governance, strategy, board relations, and senior management • Orchestrate the development, analysis, and reporting of key corporate strategy deliverables for senior management, including Board presentations, memos, pre-reads, and internal briefing documents • Ensure alignment between governance, strategy, and executive leadership priorities • Track and monitor escalated client issues directed to the CEO • Partner with the Growth organization to prioritize resolution activities and ensure timely follow-through • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows, reduce friction, and enhance team accountability • Recommend and implement tools or practices that improve operational efficiency and communication across the Office of the CEO Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree (Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or similar) required • Master’s Degree (Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or similar) strongly preferred • Five (5) years of related work experience in corporate governance/board relations, strategic planning, marketing, business development, corporate communications, project management or similar required • Demonstrate behaviors based on Velera’s values: Dedication, Collaboration, Belonging, Curiosity, and Integrity • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and proactively manage to deadlines throughout the course of the year • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines; ability to develop detailed project plans, or deploy other project management methodologies as appropriate • Proven ability to direct projects and influence others outside of this position’s span of control; proven skills in setting objectives, defining critical tasks, giving directives, internal coordination, follow up, and delegation • Strong relationship building skills, including the ability to collaborate at all levels within Velera; strong ability to build and maintain partner relationships • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats and give presentations utilizing various audiovisual support aids • Excellent analytical and organizational skills • High degree of poise and tact in order to positively represent the company • Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in making decisions • Ability to travel as needed to successfully perform position responsibilities • Ability to maintain confidentiality of materials handled • Ability to be flexible and work under high pressure in a complex environment Benefits: • Competitive wages • Medical with telemedicine • Dental and Vision • Basic and Optional Life Insurance • Paid Time Off (PTO) • Maternity, Parental, Family Care Community Volunteer Time Off • 12 Paid Holidays • Company Paid Disability Insurance • 401k (with employer match) • Health Savings Accounts (HSA) with company provided contributions • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) • Supplemental Insurance • Mental Health and Well-being: Employee Assistance Program (EAP) • Tuition Reimbursement • Wellness program
