Translate public health workflows into technical solutions, facilitate discovery sessions, and serve as a bridge between clients and technical teams. | Minimum 2 years in governmental public health, ability to understand complex systems, stakeholder facilitation, and translating needs into technical requirements. | Solutions Analyst / Business Analyst WE ARE LOOKING FOR A TEAM MEMBER WITH GOVERNMENT PUBLIC HEALTH EXPERIENCE, IDEALLY IN ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AT A LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT. IF YOU HAVE THAT EXPERIENCE, PLEASE ENSURE IT IS CLEAR ON YOUR RESUME. Compensation Note: If a salary range is listed for this position, please note that we will offer at the starting point of the band. We cover 100% of your health insurance! Role Overview We're seeking a Solutions Analyst who deeply understands how public health departments work and can translate that understanding into technology solutions that actually fit their needs. This role goes beyond gathering requirements. It requires immersing yourself in the workflows, challenges, and realities of public health practice, then figuring out how technology can make things better. We're especially interested in candidates who have worked in environmental health programs at a local health department. You know what it's like to manage inspections, track permits, navigate compliance workflows, and juggle the reporting demands that come with environmental health. That firsthand experience will shape how you approach every solution you design. This is a role for someone who naturally translates needs into action. You're the person who listens to a health department director describe their frustrations and can see the solution taking shape. You're the one who watches staff navigate a clunky process and immediately starts thinking about how it could work better. You take the messy, complex reality of public health operations and turn it into clear direction for a technical team to build against. If you've ever found yourself thinking "I know exactly what they need, I just need to explain it in a way the developers will understand," this role is for you. You'll work on our PH360 platform and various client initiatives, serving as the critical bridge between what health departments need and what our technical teams build. Your lived experience in governmental public health will help you ask the right questions, spot the real problems behind stated requests, and advocate for solutions that work in the real world. We're looking for someone who thinks holistically about problems, can synthesize input from multiple stakeholders, and isn't afraid to push back when a proposed solution doesn't quite fit. As a consulting firm, we value candidates who are passionate and eager to dive into the work. While this role focuses on solutions analysis, you may also contribute your unique talents to other firm initiatives. How You'll Work You'll join an Agile Release Train (ART) that follows SAFe principles. This means: Program Increment (PI) Planning: You'll participate in quarterly planning sessions, helping shape the roadmap based on your understanding of client needs. Sprint Collaboration: You'll work in two-week sprints with daily standups, regular backlog refinement, and sprint retrospectives. Cross-functional Teams: You'll collaborate closely with developers, architects, and QA analysts to ensure solutions meet the real need. Continuous Discovery: You'll maintain ongoing conversations with clients and stakeholders to refine your understanding of their challenges. Key Responsibilities Immerse yourself in client workflows to understand how public health staff actually do their work, with particular depth in environmental health programs Identify pain points, inefficiencies, and opportunities that clients may not have articulated Synthesize input from multiple stakeholders into coherent solution recommendations Translate complex public health processes into clear user stories and acceptance criteria Lead discovery sessions and workshops with health department staff Serve as the voice of the client within our technical teams Develop process flows, documentation, and visual aids that communicate the "why" behind solutions Challenge assumptions and push back when proposed solutions don't fit client realities Experience Required 2+ years working in governmental public health (local, state, federal, or tribal) Demonstrated ability to understand complex systems and workflows Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills Experience translating between technical and non-technical audiences Self-motivated with strong initiative Adaptability in dynamic environments Comfort working with AI tools and large language models Strongly Preferred Direct experience in environmental health programs at a local health department (e.g., inspections, permitting, compliance, complaint response) Preferred Qualifications Experience with agile methodologies Familiarity with user story development and acceptance criteria writing Familiarity with Salesforce or similar platforms Background in process improvement or system implementation Understanding of public health data systems and reporting requirements (e.g., environmental health tracking, inspection databases) Experience with discovery techniques (journey mapping, interviews, observation) Notice Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Willingness to adhere to our no-drug workplace policy. You must agree to undergo eVerify for employment status at hiring. No 3rd Party Recruiters. No Phone Calls. We are unable to do informational interviews at this moment. Candidates who call or schedule a "coffee chat" will be considered disqualified. At Flourish and Thrive Labs, we believe in the unique value each candidate brings. We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and experiences, even if you don't meet all listed qualifications.

We know transitioning from government and non-profit to consulting can be a big step. We've designed our work environment to blend the best of both worlds. How we work: Unlike traditional consulting firms, we hire you for a role, not a specific project. This means you can contribute to various initiatives that match your expertise and interests. Think of it as bringing your public health superpowers to different challenges where they're needed most. We believe in measuring what matters. While many consulting firms focus on billable hours, we care about the quality and impact of your work. Time sheets don't measure your success with us. Success is measured by the meaningful solutions you help create for our clients and their communities. Yes, we have utilization targets (consulting speak for how much of your time is spent on client work). We view these as guideposts rather than strict rules. They help us ensure we're making a sustainable impact while maintaining a healthy business. These targets are meant to motivate, not to create stress. The natural rhythm of consulting: Some weeks might be bustling with activity, while others might be quieter. We embrace these ebbs and flows because they create space for both intense, focused work and time for learning, reflection, and personal growth. This is part of our philosophy that work and life shouldn't be at odds. They should be integrated in a sustainable and energizing way. At our core, we're built on a simple belief: when our team members flourish, our clients flourish, and ultimately, communities thrive. That's why we've created an environment that supports your growth, values your expertise, and understands that the best solutions come from people who feel empowered and energized by their work. If you're passionate about public health and excited about expanding your impact through consulting, we'd love to talk with you. Your experience in public health is valuable, and we're here to help you apply it in new and meaningful ways. Notice Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Willingness to adhere to our no-drug workplace policy. You must agree to undergo eVerify for employment status at hiring. No 3rd Party Recruiters. We value initiative. If you're genuinely interested in this role, show us. (However, please do not use the "Schedule a Meeting" feature on our website. You will be disqualified.) We notice candidates who take the extra step to express real interest. Demonstrate the value that you will add to F&T Labs. At Flourish and Thrive Labs, we believe in the unique value each candidate brings. We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and experiences, even if you don't meet all listed qualifications
