Full Description

Junior Salesforce Developer WE ARE LOOKING FOR A TEAM MEMBER WITH GOVERNMENTAL PUBLIC HEALTH EXPERIENCE (LOCAL / TRIBAL / STATE / FEDERAL). IF YOU HAVE THAT EXPERIENCE IN ADDITION TO SALESFORCE SKILLS, PLEASE ENSURE IT IS CLEAR ON YOUR RESUME. What do we mean by governmental public health? We're looking for people who have worked directly for a public health agency: a local health department, tribal health organization, state health department, or federal public health agency like CDC or HRSA. We require this because there's no substitute for the lived experience of navigating government systems, understanding the constraints public health staff face, and developing genuine empathy for the people doing this work. That empathy shapes how we build solutions. SALESFORCE EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE. We are looking for candidates who have hands-on experience with the Salesforce platform, not those looking to learn Salesforce from scratch. Compensation Note: If a salary range is listed for this position, please note that we will be offering at the starting point of the band. We cover 100% of your health insurance! Role Overview We're seeking a Junior Salesforce Developer who brings more than technical skills. We need someone who understands public health and can translate that understanding into solutions that actually work for health department staff. This role is about building technology that fits how public health actually operates. Your background in public health means you'll understand why a disease investigator needs to access data a certain way, or why a reporting workflow has to account for multiple jurisdictions. You won't just write code to spec. You'll build solutions that make sense because you've lived the work. You'll be part of a collaborative team working on our PH360 platform and client implementations. You'll learn from senior developers and architects who are invested in your growth, while contributing your own public health expertise to help the team build better solutions. This isn't a role where you'll be coding alone in a corner. You'll be pairing with teammates, participating in design discussions, and helping ensure what we build truly serves our clients. If you've ever looked at a public health technology system and thought "I could build something better," this is your opportunity. How You'll Work You'll be part of an Agile Release Train (ART) that follows SAFe principles. This means: Program Increment (PI) Planning: You'll participate in quarterly planning sessions, learning how technical roadmaps come together and contributing your public health perspective Sprint Collaboration: You'll work in two-week sprints with daily standups, regular backlog refinement, and sprint retrospectives Pair Programming: You'll work alongside senior developers who will help you grow your technical skills Team Problem-Solving: You'll be part of discussions where your understanding of public health workflows helps the team build better solutions Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain Salesforce applications using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Flow Collaborate with senior developers and architects on solution design Bring your public health perspective to technical discussions and design decisions Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives Write clean, well-documented, testable code that follows team standards Learn and apply Salesforce best practices through code reviews and mentorship Help translate public health requirements into technical implementations Ask questions, seek feedback, and continuously improve your craft Experience Required 1-2 years of hands-on Salesforce development or administration experience (required) 1+ years working for a governmental public health agency (local, state, federal, or tribal) Salesforce Administrator certification required (Platform Developer I preferred, or willingness to obtain within 6 months) Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly Strong collaboration and communication skills Technical Requirements Hands-on experience with the Salesforce platform (required) Basic understanding of Apex, SOQL, or similar programming languages Familiarity with Salesforce declarative tools (Flow, Process Builder, validation rules) Understanding of relational databases and data modeling concepts Exposure to version control (Git) or willingness to learn Preferred Qualifications Salesforce Platform Developer I certification Experience with Lightning Web Components or other JavaScript frameworks Familiarity with Agile or SAFe methodology Background in public health data systems, case management, or epidemiology workflows Trailhead Ranger status or significant Trailhead completion What We Offer for Your Growth Mentorship: You'll be paired with senior developers who are genuinely invested in helping you succeed Certification Support: We'll support your journey to additional Salesforce certifications Learning Time: Our natural consulting rhythm includes quieter periods that create space for training and professional development Meaningful Work: You'll contribute to projects that directly impact public health communities from day one Notice Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Willingness to adhere to our no-drug workplace policy. You must agree to undergo eVerify for employment status at hiring. No 3rd Party Recruiters. We value initiative. If you're genuinely interested in this role, show us. (However, please do not use the "Schedule a Meeting" feature on our website. You will be disqualified.) We notice candidates who take the extra step to express real interest. Demonstrate the value that you will add to F&T Labs. At Flourish and Thrive Labs, we believe in the unique value each candidate brings. We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and experiences, even if you don't meet all listed qualifications
