As these organizations race towards building gigawatt-scale data centers, this technically-oriented business leader will help solve for challenges in grid availability, power quality, energy resilience and offer/negotiate use of bankable and reliable Canadian Solar critical power infrastructure products ranging from power generation to conversion and storage systems – that will allow these cloud providers to scale. We are seeking a candidate with technical fluency in the data center energy value chain. In this role, you will lead commercial engagements with Tier 1 Hyperscalers (AWS, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Oracle), understanding their complex power system requirements that can be served by our power solution offering (selling our reliability, efficiency, power quality and speed-to-market capabilities). You will engage directly with Data Center Architects, Electrical Engineers, Procurement Leaders, and Infrastructure Owner/Operators to structure deals that solve their most pressing data center power challenges. Responsibilities: Hyperscale Account Strategy: Map the decision-making matrix within Hyperscale organizations, connecting with stakeholders in Energy Procurement, Site Selection, and Critical Infrastructure Engineering. Solution Structuring: Orchestrate complex deals that may involve multiple technologies, including on-site generation, battery storage (BESS), and power conversion, ensuring they meet strict SLA and grid interconnection requirements. Technical Consultative Selling: Participate in high-level technical sales engagements. You are expected to white-board basic power architectures with customer engineering teams, demonstrating how our solutions can ensure uptime for these critical sites. Cyber & Control Advocacy: Position our SCADA and control systems not just as operational tools, but as vital cybersecurity assets in an increasingly threatened infrastructure landscape. Market Feedback Loop: Act as the bridge between the customer’s technical roadmap (e.g., higher rack densities, liquid cooling power needs) and our product engineering teams. Collect and understand customer needs, market trends and input from across organizational leadership to align product strategy and roadmap in the Energy Storage market segment. Requirements: Industry Experience: 10+ years of technical sales &/or business development experience in the Critical Infrastructure or Energy sector. Domain Expertise: Deep functional knowledge of the data center power stack. You must have experience selling or managing at least three of the following: Power Generation (Turbines, Fuel Cells, Gensets, or Renewables) Power Conversion Devices (Inverters, Rectifiers, Transformers) Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) technologies SCADA / Controls & Cybersecurity (OT Security standards) The "Hunter" Mindset: Proven track record of closing complex, multi-million-dollar infrastructure deals with Hyperscalers, large Co-location providers, or EPCs. Grid Fluency: Understanding of utility interconnection challenges, microgrid architectures, and the regulatory landscape for behind-the-meter power. Confident with decision making regarding determining product guidelines, purpose, following through and completion. High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts. Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams. Self-motivated and able to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision. Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementing skills. Ability to travel as required – expected travel requirement approximately 30-50%. Ideal candidates bring a proven track record in battery storage sales and hold established relationships within the home building ecosystem. • Generate, identify, qualify and contact new business leads for the Residential Energy Storage division of Canadian Solar: EP Cube and promote the sale of products from our portfolio. • Establish new relationships with new home builders and construction companies that will result in new revenue channels and perpetuate Canadian Solar's reputation as a leading manufacturer. • Meet with existing distribution and installation partners that are servicing the new home building space; develop a close relationship in order to ensure EP Cube is positioned as their top choice. • Travel approximately 50% (or more) throughout the year within your designated sales territory to build strong sales pipelines using your deep technical knowledge. • Track all customer leads in our CRM and use data to track how you're pacing towards meeting and exceeding individual and team KPI's (key performance indicators). • Partner closely with internal Executives in Sales, Operations, Planning and more to establish revenue forecasts, communicate progress and conduct prospect reviews. • Use your expert knowledge of rebate programs available to new home builders along with your technical prowess to elevate our brand and close deals with confidence. • Participate in trade shows and conferences to represent the company, to entertain clients and prospects and to close new sales opportunities. • Establish “product bankability” to support clients with project financing and lender acceptance. Required Qualifications: • 10+ years of total professional experience, including at least 3 years in B2B sales focused on energy storage or battery technology, with a demonstrated ability to close deals in a technical sales environment. • 3+ years of experience working directly with new home builders, developers, or construction partners, with a strong preference for candidates who maintain an active network in these segments. • 5+ years B2B sales of tangible products that are technical and/or electrical in nature • Proven ability to quickly build B2B relationships within the construction space, uncover their unique challenges, qualify the lead and offer solutions from the CSI portfolio. • You are currently based in California, ideally within 1 hour of a major airport, and have strong familiarity with regional home building trends and stakeholders. • You have your own playbook for generating new business within the new home construction. • Strong ability to find the decision maker in a complex deal, qualify the sale as a viable opportunity & overcome objections using your technical knowledge of PV + BESS • Expert Presentation and communication skills - In person, over video/phone and email • Excellent interpersonal skills: you're a team player, open to trying to new things, receptive to coaching and feedback and can thrive while managing yourself in a remote capacity • High proficiency with MS Office applications, including Outlook, Excel and CRM tools • Bachelors or Associate degree in business management, administration, engineering, supply chain or related a related field is a plus, but not required • Bilingual in Spanish or other languages are a plus, but not required Compensation and Benefits: Canadian Solar offers a competitive salary plus fully comprehensive benefits and performance bonus package based on an annual objective achievement.
