Lead technical due diligence and product development for inverter technologies, collaborate with procurement and engineering, ensure compliance with codes and certifications, and support commercialization and market strategy.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, 5+ years in inverter technology or power electronics with utility-scale BESS experience, strong technical knowledge of power systems and standards, leadership and communication skills, and international collaboration experience.
Description: • Lead technical due diligence of both central and string inverter technologies; develop technical product requirements and provide supplier recommendations. • Assist procurement and engineering in reviewing supplier proposals and negotiating technical requirements. • Monitor evolving codes and certifications; analyze market impact and recommend strategies. • Drive Independent Engineer reviews to validate performance and compliance; maintain traceability of inverter specifications and certifications. • Collaborate with engineering, business development, and execution teams to refine solution architecture and product vision. • Research market requirements; present proposals; act as internal advocate for customers; drive product ideas through development. • Communicate and train business teams; prepare technical content for customer visits, webinars, and marketing collateral. • Support procurement and supply chain to ensure manufacturing processes, certification, and compliance; resolve technical gaps during qualification and integration. • Provide technical guidance for commercialization; measure product success and recommend improvements. • Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field; a postgraduate degree (M.Sc./Ph.D.) in engineering is preferred. • Minimum 5 years of experience in inverter technology, power electronics, or energy storage product development, with hands-on exposure to utility-scale BESS projects and applications. • Strong understanding of inverter technology (both central and string), power electronics, and their integration with battery systems. • Solid knowledge of power systems engineering, grid compliance, and interconnection requirements. • Familiarity with control systems and product validation processes. • Proficiency in applying relevant codes and standards (NFPA, UL, IEEE, IEC, etc.). • Ability to quickly absorb detailed product information and effectively communicate technical aspects to diverse stakeholders. • Understanding of financial product calculations, including cost structure, pricing definition, analysis, and recommendations. • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. • Strong interpersonal skills for cross-timezone and cross-cultural collaboration. • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical resources and influence strategy. • Experience working in international organizations; preference for prior collaboration with teams in China; proficiency in Mandarin preferred but not required. • Flexibility to travel internationally up to 15% for vendor assessments and events.
