Together with your team of analysts, you will drive revenue capture for commercial contract payers across a wide range of clinical services. Key Responsibilities: Review outpatient hospital facility, clinic, and physician documentation, including, but not limited to medical records, UB-04s, EOBs, itemized bills, and remittance advices to determine appropriate code assignments for services provided (CPT/HCPCS codes). Analyze and apply Commercial and Managed Care contracts to facilitate proper pricings. Navigate hospital EMR and billing systems to conduct patient-specific clinical documentation research and validate hospital reporting. Build and maintain expertise in Medicare and Managed Care billing, coding, and reimbursement policies. Support algorithm research, development, and maintenance for the purpose of processing hospital data to uncover medical reporting inaccuracies that lead to underpayments. Mine, research, and identify treatment patterns to identify predictive indicators of care. Interact effectively with consulting teams to perform reviews, provide recommendations, and communicate project results for R1/Cloudmed’s clients. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, or HS diploma with 2+ years’ experience in hospital coding, billing, resolution, revenue cycle and/or related data analytics (i.e., medical assistant, billing and coding, healthcare technician, biology/health science major). The Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst will help validate and review hospital accounts which are believed to have additional revenue opportunity. Every day you will confirm the claim reimbursement to ensure there are no additional variables impacting reimbursement, confirm BlueCard eligibility, and initiate the process of maximizing the client’s revenue via the established void/rebill submission process. To thrive you must have experience with data mining, trending and auditing claims. Upon discovery of new information, the Senior Analyst will be expected to “re-price” the account, including complex scenarios, and therefore must have an understanding of inpatient and outpatient managed care payment methodologies. (e.g., Cost Outlier, APC-based pricing, OPPS, multiple procedure reductions, line-item fee schedules, etc.). The Senior Analyst will lead the effort of training new Analysts and will perform QA/review accounts before moving accounts to the resolution work queue. The Senior Analyst must be available to all team members assigned to assist them with questions and concerns to ensure contracts are followed as written and do so in a positive manner. The Senior Analyst must function as an escalation point and resource for effectively researching complex claim issues. The Senior Analyst will monitor the work queues of junior staff and collaborate with Management to outline strategy, priorities, and focus for the upcoming week(s) and month(s) to ensure progress is made in production volumes and underpayment risk does not go overlooked or become untimely. The Senior Analyst will be expected to assist Management with planning, short- and long- term budget forecasting, and will at times be needed to work accounts and perform the job duties of an Analyst when the client impacting milestones are at risk. The Follow Up Associate II investigates and examines denial accounts, applying internal methods to resolve issues and providing feedback to staff. Utilizes computer systems/programs, processes, policies and procedures as they apply to the positions entailed duties and be able to trouble-shoot issues as they arise within the assigned specialization group. In addition, this position is required to learn how to conduct research analysis and work closely with third party payers to answer relevant questions and obtain appropriate information in pursuit of resolving unpaid claims. Appeals Specialist incumbents must be assessed as being resourceful and having extensive knowledge in area applicable to the assigned specialization group. Acts under direct supervision while learning to make complex decisions within the scope of this position. Responsibilities: Investigates and examines source of denials utilizing knowledge of charge master, AS4, ICD-9 coding, CPT coding and EDI billing. Reads and interprets expected reimbursement information from EOB's and learns legal parameters pertaining to all State and Federal Laws that pertain to the plan benefits pertaining to the EOB. Works closely with third party payers to resolve unpaid claims in proving medical necessity of the patient's admission. Works with HIM and PAS across the enterprise in resolving adverse benefit determinations. Work closely with Appeals staff (Letter writers, Case Managers and Hearing specialists) in obtaining all pertinent information in a timely manner. Performs duties as given by supervisor to fill in where needed: covering phones, sorting mail, scanning and filing or any other office function within the CAU. Maintains and follows all HIPAA and confidentiality requirements. Required Qualifications: High School diploma Demonstrated extensive knowledge in the health insurance industry (Commercial Insurances, VA, Medicare, Medicaid); health claims billing and/or Third-Party contracts, minimum of two years experience in a specified area. Demonstrated excellent analytical, fact-finding, problems solving and organizational skills as well as the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing with staff, patients, and insurance plan administrators. Self-starter who is comfortable with payer portals and understands follow up process.
