Job Summary Safely operates a tractor-trailer or a straight truck with a pup trailer (or other vehicle requiring a class A CDL) to perform assigned duties on designated routes. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Operates vehicle in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements as well as all local, state and federal requirements and Company expectations for the Fleet; maintains a clean and safe vehicle. • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using standard eDVIR (electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Report); notes all issues on eDVIR form for corrective review/repair. • Immediately reports any unsafe situations or unscheduled service calls to Operations Manager and Dispatch before attempting service. • Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Operations Manager. • Works closely with Operations Managers and Dispatch to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts. • Performs all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager and Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed. • Notifies Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage. • Notifies Operations Manager and Dispatch of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, services that cannot be completed, or problems that arise on the route. • Communicates customer requests, issues, or service changes to Operations Manager and Dispatch. • Completely dumps all containers and leaves the customer's location clean and free of debris. • Positions containers on the customer's property in a manner that ensures containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic. • Follows route assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking-in at the end of the route. III. Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. A. Education and Experience • Education: None required. • Experience: 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years required. B. Role and Responsibilities: As a Commercial Driver, you will safely operate heavy-duty trucks, maintain vehicles, and manage customer service on assigned routes. You will communicate effectively with operations and dispatch teams while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. • Operate vehicles in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and Company safety requirements; maintain clean and safe vehicles. • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections using standard Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) and note any issues for corrective action. • Immediately report unsafe situations or service issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Participate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required. • Work with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify potential issues. • Perform all assigned duties, assisting other company drivers as directed. • Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage. • Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager. • Dump containers completely and leave customer locations clean and free of debris. • Complete and submit customer tickets for excess yardage removal. • Position containers properly, ensuring lids are closed, containers upright, and driveways or traffic are not blocked. • Follow route assignments and complete all required documentation at the end of the route. Required Skills and Experience: • Commercial Driver's License B (CDL) required. • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. • Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, including motor vehicle record review. • Acceptable driving record required. • No prior work experience required; education not required. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Human Resources, Business administration, or similar area of study.
