PURPOSE The Child Care Team Lead (CCTL) is responsible for building and developing a high-performing team who cares for and safeguards the well-being of the children of our members and guests during their visits to VASA. This is achieved by making sure everyone who enters KidCare feels welcome, ensuring the safety of our mini-members, and delivering fun and entertaining programs. Additionally, the CCTL will make sure KidCare is sparkling clean and well maintained. DELIVERABLES * Support Staffing and Training: Forecast upcoming staffing needs (CCA) by having frequent conversations with Child Care Attendants (CCA) team members to understand changing work schedules and shifting employee needs. Work with the GM to schedule and conduct interviews, ensuring that the right candidates are hired for open positions. Schedule and facilitate training for new Child Care Attendants (CCA). Partners with the GM to create a welcoming environment for candidates and new hires. * Upholds KidCare Standards -- Ensure everyone feels welcome by greeting our members and mini-members by name and saying a friendly goodbye when they leave. Ensure everyone on the KidCare team engages with everyone in a positive manner. The CCTL will drive a policy execution, manage operating costs, and ensure mini members can participate in fun, entertaining programming. * Fun and entertaining programming: The CCTL ensures that all KidCare programs are executed in a way that our Mini-Members enjoy. * Flawless playbook execution: The CCTL ensures that all KidCare playbooks are executed by the KidCare team to precision in their fitness center. This includes timely completion of walkthroughs and checklists. * Managing operating costs: The CCTL manages operating costs by controlling labor and equipment expense without sacrificing the needs of our Mini-Members * Safety of our Mini-Members. The CCTL ensures that all mini members are checked in and out of KidCare by following proper procedures. In addition to hourly safety scans they will make sure that every mini member is monitored during their stay to ensure their well-being. They will ensure the KidCare is clean, and equipment/toys are fixed and well maintained. * Sparkling clean.: The CCTL ensures that every area of the KidCare Center is always as clean as possible. * Fixed Equipment: The CCTL ensures that all equipment issues are identified, a ticket is submitted for repair, and fixed as quickly as possible. * Safety Scans: The CCTL will partner with GM to perform hourly safety scans in the KidCare to ensure the mini members are in the best care. * Build and Develop a High Performing Team.Establish a culture within the team that adheres to our core values and drives accountability. The CCTL is responsible for attracting, hiring, coaching, and maximizing the engagement of the operations team at their club. * Coach and Support Ongoing Team Member Development: Lead by example and demonstrate enthusiasm for VASA values. Build trust and strong relationships with all team members all across all levels of the organization. Provide coaching in the moment that inspires commitment and provide input and feedback to GM in succession planning conversations. Qualifications COMPETENCIES The competencies for successful performance in this role include, but are not limited to, the following: * Passion for Helping Children * Develop High Performing Teams * Attention to Detail * Get it Done Attitude! * Positive Energy * Current CPR/AED Certification QUALIFICATIONS The qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: * Applicable and transferable experience, ideally from the child care or child education industries required * Bachelor's degree or applicable work experience required * Strong verbal and written communications skills and interpersonal savvy WORKING CONDITIONS Primary work in a fitness facility and office setting. Temperature variations can occur. The environment includes some ambient noise such as talking and use of gym equipment and machinery PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS * Talking: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly. * Physical Strength: Non-Sedentary work, standing and walking most of the time. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds. * Reasoning Ability: Ability to deal with a variety of variables under limited standardization. Able to interpret various instructions and relay instructions to clients * Attendance is an essential duty of the position. Employees must work regularly scheduled shifts, during business hours to assist members and sell services in-person. Perform maintenance, inspections, repairs, and safety checks on club equipment and building systems while communicating progress to management. | 1-2 years maintenance experience, knowledge of building systems, ability to diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical/plumbing/HVAC issues, good communication, and proficiency with maintenance software. | About the position Responsibilities • Provide verbal, daily communication and status/progress update to General Manager and document work completed to supervisor. • Work with the General Manager to schedule, deploy work, and verify that the work is completed appropriately. • Inspect and test club equipment, systems and components to ensure they are functioning properly. • Ensure the safety of our members, staff and assets by inspecting equipment, performing club walks, and communicating to club leadership. • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in equipment and club systems. • Conduct regular inspections and perform preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, and systems as outlined in (CMMS) system. • Diagnose and repair issues with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. • Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner. • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes. • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of supplies and parts. • Monitor and test building systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance. • Assemble new equipment, paint and refurbish equipment. • Address urgent maintenance issues and emergencies promptly. • Work with General Manager, District Manager, other Facility staff, contractors, and vendors as needed. • Perform general maintenance tasks such as wall patching, painting, carpentry, and groundskeeping. Requirements • 1-2 years maintenance background in either facilities or other mechanical equipment. • Great work ethic. • Fast learner, with a desire to learn a valuable trade. • Knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures. • Ability to diagnose and fix issues efficiently. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Maintain X, ASANA, or other project management tools. • Ensure precise and accurate repair and maintenance work. • Good communication skills to interact with colleagues and provide updates. • Previous experience in maintenance or a related field is often required. Nice-to-haves • CPO, welding, and other certifications are a plus.
