IT Department The IT Department at Vantage Data Centers plays a pivotal role in driving innovation and efficiency across our technology landscape. IT Standards Team Our team is responsible for helping other technology teams on their automation journey, and for developing IT standards that support the IT organization. We embrace many approaches and technologies to speed up the delivery and operations of our Data Centers. From Zero-Touch provisioning of network equipment to the deployment of applications on containerization platforms, we apply our software and operation industry expertise everywhere we can. Individual contributors are encouraged to speak up, propose new insights and take an active role in the definition of our roadmap. Position Overview This role can be based remotely in the US. Our team automates and standardizes the installation, configuration, deployment, and operation of Vantage Data Centers technology platforms. To support our growth, we are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our team and help us deliver more automation to our internal customers! You will be using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Aria to implement IaC practices. You will write declarative code, create playbooks and orchestrate workflows that will allow people to save time and standardize our operations. You will contribute to administration and architecture for our hybrid cloud environment. You will suggest improvements to our current workflows, bring a positive, "there is a better way" demeanor, and be a key contributor to our technology automation platform! Duties: • Report to assigned Vantage Special Projects team and manager. • Manage assigned portfolio execution of remediation projects from concept through commissioning and prepare various reports on a monthly and/or quarterly basis. • Drive day-to-day construction decisions to conclusion. • QA/QC work of assigned projects to confirm accuracy. Handle inputs and delivery of work products with internal team members to ensure that new data center spaces follow all applicable VDC applicable requirements. • Establish and track project budgets. Submit approval packages to TOF approval group. • Partner with Base Building Director(s), Construction Cost & Finance to produce monthly project forecasts including variance analyses as well as execution of Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and project authorizations for new and existing contractors and vendors. • Vendor/Contractor management including qualification and relationship building/maintenance. • Review monthly billing with Special Projects team, confirm substantiation and audit vs budget. • Ensure 'lessons learned' are held and placed in the feedback loop to drive continuous improvement. • Ensure project team aligns with project turnover documentation requirements to Operations. • Work closely with Operations to coordinate design criteria and construction with ongoing maintenance and operation of existing facilities. Vantage is seeking an accomplished Senior Manager, Design for North America to join our North America Technology Solutions (NATS) team, leading design and engineering efforts. In this role, you will champion product performance and technical excellence, managing multifunctional teams of skilled engineers focused on critical data center infrastructure systems. You will take ownership of the entire design life cycle for both existing and new developments in your region. Your responsibilities will encompass the coordination of design documentation review and approval, oversight of both traditional, design-bid-build and design-build contractor teams. Serving as the point of contact for department leaders involved in the project cycle, you will facilitate seamless collaboration between Sales and Solutions Engineering, EH&S, New Site Development, Construction, Design Engineering SMEs (Subject Matter Experts), Sustainability, Automation & Controls, Security, IT, and Operations. Process Optimization: • Develop and enhance design, procurement, and construction processes to streamline Operations delivery, including change management with consultants and contractors. • Lead in supporting and coordinating the Change Management/ADAPT process, ensuring its effective implementation for all engineering functions and fields including but not limited to CSA, M&E, BMS, security, ICT, and Data Module fit-out. • Provide comprehensive reporting to development delivery leadership, highlighting the performance and impact of implemented changes. Stakeholder Engagement: • Foster strong client relationships by leading technical meetings and offering support to internal partners. • Provide regular, detailed updates on design progress, risks, blockers, changes, and priorities. Quality Assurance & Benchmarking: • Drive benchmarking initiatives for internal regional alignment and ensure the highest design and construction quality standards. Procurement & Vendor Management: • Support procurement and regional project leads in the selection of local partners for design development, contract oversight, and Value Engineering (VE) implementation with the General Contractor (GC) and Engineer of Record (EOR). Job Requirements Education: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management, Planning, Architecture, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred. • Alternative, relevant education or experience such as military service or exceptional experience/training may be considered. • Professional engineering (PE) license or architecture certification is a plus. As a Technical Project Manager, Vantage is looking for a highly motivated, self-starter to be an integral part of a team that manages Owner Furnished Contractor Installed Equipment and corresponding supply chains. In this role, you will manage every aspect of the equipment procurement and delivery process from start to finish. Daily tasks include writing RFP’s, negotiating deals and contracts with vendors, reviewing/managing equipment submittals, delivery tracking, building maintaining complex project budgets, and evaluating data center equipment designs. As a regional lead, you will be required to manage numerous projects simultaneously. Regular teamwork and coordination will be required with our external supply chain partners and numerous internal teams such as Construction Cost & Finance, Accounting, Construction, Operations, and Legal. Essential Job Functions Equipment Procurement and Management: • Autonomously drive equipment submittals from inception to completion. • Manage electrical single-line diagrams, mechanical riser diagrams, and product specifications for multiple projects. • Competitively bid and procure various types of mechanical and electrical equipment, including but not limited to Medium Voltage Switchgear, Transformers, Chillers, Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAHs), CRACs, Switchgear, PDUs, UPSs, Generators, and other electrical distribution gear. Manage relationships involving power and gas infrastructure vendors or developers, ensuring they deliver high-quality results in a timely manner. Initiate and participate in project meetings to discuss progress, address challenges, and drive vendor performance. Challenge vendors and internal teams to achieve the seemingly impossible by supporting the innovation of power delivery. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal engineering and construction teams, as well as external vendors, to ensure the rapid execution of onsite power solutions. Coordinate the flow of information between all stakeholders, ensuring that project updates and results are communicated effectively. Reporting and Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and status reports. Provide regular updates to internal leadership on project progress, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Additional Duties: Handle additional duties as assigned by Management. Skills, Knowledge, and Experience: Bachelor of Business, Engineering, Project Management, or related education, OR equivalent proven work experience required. Knowledge of power generation or gas industries including mechanical, electrical, piping, design, construction, and/or infrastructure. Experience: 2-5 years of technical engineering project experience in power generation, oil / gas, or data center industries OR 5-10 years of technical engineering, trade, and/or construction administrative coordination experience in power generation, oil/gas, or data center industries. Power generation and oil/gas infrastructure experience. Data center experience is strongly preferred but not required. Strong experience with technical document management and project processes. PMP certification a plus. Skills: Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft 365, Procore, SharePoint, and experience with managing external vendors. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Skilled at leading meetings, results, reporting updates, and budgets. Positive and proactive attitude. Limited travel is required, less than 10%, but may increase over time as the business evolves. Additional Details Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations) This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.
