You will work closely with the rest of the migration team to plan cutover waves, right-size compute, and ensure migrated servers are secure, patched, and production-ready from day one on AWS. The Opportunity • Plan and execute lift-and-shift migration of on-premises servers to Amazon EC2 • Build and maintain custom AMIs, instance configurations, and Auto Scaling groups for migrated workloads • Administer Linux servers — provisioning, patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting — across the fleet • Configure supporting networking and security for EC2 workloads (VPC, security groups, NACLs, load balancers) • Harden and standardize server builds to meet security and compliance baselines • Automate provisioning and configuration management using scripting and config management tools • Validate post-migration performance and stability, and remediate issues found during cutover • Document server architecture, runbooks, and standard operating procedures This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. This role is focused on the compute and OS layer of the migration — standing up, configuring, and hardening EC2 instances and administering the Linux systems that run our re-hosted applications. You will work closely with the rest of the migration team to plan cutover waves, right-size compute, and ensure migrated servers are secure, patched, and production-ready from day one on AWS. The opportunity: • Plan and execute lift-and-shift migration of on-premises servers to Amazon EC2 • Build and maintain custom AMIs, instance configurations, and Auto Scaling groups for migrated workloads • Administer Linux servers — provisioning, patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting — across the fleet • Configure supporting networking and security for EC2 workloads (VPC, security groups, NACLs, load balancers) • Harden and standardize server builds to meet security and compliance baselines • Automate provisioning and configuration management using scripting and config management tools • Validate post-migration performance and stability, and remediate issues found during cutover • Document server architecture, runbooks, and standard operating procedures This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position.
