The Timken Museum of Art is a San Diego institution that serves as the permanent home to the Putnam Foundation Collection, featuring masterpieces of European old masters, American art, and Russian icons. Founded in 1965, the free-admission museum is dedicated to preserving and expanding access to its world-class art collection for the public's benefit and enjoyment. About the Project I currently manage all grant reports, deadlines, and applications on Google Sheets. While this has worked well, I want to transition everything over to Asana for a more optimized and streamlined workflow. This project-based internship is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, systems design, and learning by doing. You’ll help build a fully functional Asana system that replaces the current spreadsheets. Responsibilities • Review and understand the existing grant tracking spreadsheets (deadlines, reports, applications). • Map out the structure in Asana to mirror and improve upon the current workflow. • Build projects, tasks, templates, and reporting features in Asana. • Set up deadlines, reminders, and recurring tasks accurately. • Recommend best practices (tags, custom fields, calendar views, dashboards). • Document the new system so it’s easy to maintain going forward. Qualifications • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills. • Experience with Asana or other project management tools (Trello, Monday, ClickUp, etc.). • Comfort with Google Sheets and data migration. • Interest in nonprofit work, grant writing, or project management is a plus. • Ability to work independently with clear communication. Details • Type: Project-based internship (until project completion). • Location: Remote. • Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. If you are enrolled in a college or university program, we can provide verification and support paperwork for academic credit upon request. • Start Date: Flexible, as soon as possible. • End Date: When the project is completed.
