Assist with market research projects for public-sector clients, developing skills in coding, data collection, and analysis. | Current student in a related field with interest in analytics, coding, and survey methods, possessing basic MS Office skills and a desire to learn. | RSG is looking for students who are passionate about market research, coding, GIS, statistics or analytics to apply for our summer 2026 internship program! RSG’s market research teams primarily work on projects for public-sector clients including transit agencies and urban planners. As an intern at RSG, you’ll work alongside our staff, making real contributions to our work and the public good while developing your skills. As a small but tech-forward company, RSG provides an ideal learning environment for R or Python novices to get real-world experience coding in a collaborative setting. While learning the ins and outs of our market research programs, you’ll be encouraged to explore what interests you and build your portfolio by developing independent research or coding projects. Our internships begin in May and end in August. Successful applicants may choose to work remotely or from one of our offices in Vermont (Burlington or White River Junction), Washington, DC, Denver, CO, or Chicago. Education, Experience, and Skills • Current undergraduate or graduate student who is majoring in transportation, urban planning, mathematics, psychology/social science, economics, statistics, or other related field. • Strong interest in analytic, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. • Well organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and flexible. • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and on a team. • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. • Interest in or aptitude for working with data and conducting analyses using statistical packages, databases, and spreadsheets (e.g., SPSS, Python, SQL, R, or Excel). • Experience in or desire to learn survey research methods. • Basic proficiency with MS Office tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Aptitude for using technology in work processes. • Solid written and verbal communication skills. • Previous experience with data collection or other aspects of scientific studies is desirable, but not necessary. Physical Demands • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods. • Ability to operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, or computer printer. • Ability to clearly communicate with colleagues and clients.
