We are responsible for reinforcing distribution and transmission poles, ensuring compliance with CA laws and PG&E standards. Our department is dedicated to environmental responsibility and safety, making it an essential component of our commitment to delivering quality service to our customers.   Position Summary   The Construction Manager will be responsible for the execution on the Pole Reinforcement Program, System Inspections.  The Construction Manager supports contract adherence, consults on program feasibility and project site details, coordinates with construction crews, oversees project inspectors, and on a project specific basis performs construction oversight.  The incumbent may also prepare job packages and construction estimates, conduct job walks, and meet with bidders, contractors, and governing agencies. The Construction Manager ensures projects are completed per company standards, engineering design, regulatory guidelines, permits and schedule.   This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and assigned location, subject to change per business needs.   The assigned work location will be flexible within the PG&E Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader.     Job Responsibilities   Applies advanced knowledge of professional and technical concepts to projects in multiple disciplines such as civil, electrical, process instrumentation and electric construction management. Attends job scope walk downs w/PG&E Interprets, designs, and writes work specific scope documentation and contributes to the decision-making process related to contract work. Reviews RFP’s to confirm financial data submitted from the contractor matches the job scope. Attends and leads formal job walk downs and discusses scope, schedule and target dates. Compiles internal documents and relevant data for the RFP and contract processes. Addresses all communication with contractors. Conducts meetings at the job site allowing contractors to review the design and ask questions. Utilizes workload management database and update assigned projects. Assist career level employees with system usage and begin reviewing workload analysis reports. Ensures contractors follow their approved site-specific safety plans. Enforces project environmental/land permit conditions and all safety regulations. Assists in the pre-construction project cycle, accompanies team on project walks and offer constructability reports when tasked. Coordinates both construction project kick off meetings, PG&E procured material deliveries, and meets with governing agencies/ municipalities to manage and enlist compliance with permitting regulations. Ensures accurate documentation of contractor billing, manage change orders and the close out of project field records. Leads weekly construction and progress meetings and publish meeting notes with field records on a project basis. Maintains a positive relationship with construction superintendents and project managers updating them as part of the project construction team. On a limited basis, and as designated, provides mentoring to Associate and Career level employees. Field oversight, fielding calls from the field and assisting in-person, on location when needed.  Travel approximately 50% to 80% of the time     Qualifications   Minimum:   Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience 5 years of experience in the field of Industrial Engineering or Construction Travel approximately 50 - 80% with occasional overnight stays.     Desired:   7 years working experience in the field of Industrial Engineering or Construction. The work of this department is critical in our efforts to find compliance challenges and identify areas of risk so that we can fix them. The main functions of this new department are identifying areas of compliance risk and opportunities to mitigate those risks, including through incident reporting and investigations, overseeing Electric Operations and Power Generation CAP, and validating the controls on the organization. Position Summary PG&E is seeking an experienced business professional to be a member of the Electric Compliance Controls Validation Team. The Controls Validation Team is responsible to develop quality management plans for process improvements to assure compliance quality control measures are implemented and effective. This role will have a high level of visibility with PG&E leadership and will support one or many aspects of the Controls Validation Team’s scope. A strong applicant will have deep technical, regulatory, and operational expertise, and bring a structured approach to identify external regulatory requirements, benchmark internally and externally, validate process controls, and summarize findings. Location of this position is flexible within PG&E service territory and will require occasional travel to other areas around PG&E’s service territory. A reasonable salary range is: • Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area) $122,000.00 • Mid Base Salary (Bay Area) $158,000.00 • Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area) $194,000.00 • Minimum Base Salary (California) $116,000.00 • Mid Base Salary (California) $150,000.00 • Maximum Base Salary (California) $184,000.00 Reporting Relationship This position reports to the Manager, Electric Compliance Controls Validation Job Responsibilities and Expectations • Develop/refine the process to identify external regulatory requirements, benchmark internally and externally, validate process controls, and summarize findings. • Develop controls or metrics to assist in monitoring and evaluating the success of compliance controls. • Develops and leads team to perform business process analysis and business process reengineering. Prepare and present summary of findings and risk to PG&E to senior and executive leaders. • Develop strategy and action plans, working with Directors and Officers. Coach stakeholders to develop appropriate corrective action plans that contain effective solutions to prevent recurrence. • Review failure data and make recommendations to improve process performance, applying broad company and industry knowledge. • May coach and provide direction to less experienced team members. • Works effectively in a matrixed organization, working with directors and managers across organizations to provide expert opinion and influence decisions. • May develop/refine process to determine and prioritize processes to evaluate regulatory controls. Background Qualifications Minimum • High School Diploma or equivalent • 7 years of progressive experience in utility operations or in other highly regulated industry • 2 years of experience with causal evaluation methods and investigations in the utility industry • Travel throughout the service territory 70% of the time.
