THE ORGANIZATION(S) Founded in 1981, the Oregon Solar + Storage Industries Association (OSSIA) is the state’s solar industry trade association. OSSIA’s mission is to make solar energy a significant energy source in Oregon and expand the market by strengthening the industry and developing a skilled and stable workforce. Leading over 100 solar businesses throughout Oregon and more than 4,000 individuals working within the industry, OSSIA advances policy, removes market barriers, highlights emerging trends, and promotes outreach and education. The Oregon Solar Energy Education Fund (OSEEF) is the 501 (c) (3) sibling organization of OSSIA, founded in 2019. OSEEF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to supporting solar education and regulatory reform in Oregon. By partnering with solar companies, workforce development organizations, current and future solar workers, solar regulators, and forward-looking policymakers, we’re breaking down barriers to expanding solar energy as a vital part of a clean and renewable energy mix. OSEEF/OSSIA are small but mighty organizations. Staff and volunteer Boards of Directors support each other and work collaboratively to advance our goals. THE POSITION The solar industry provides good-paying jobs, but is 90% white and 80% male; OSEEF seeks to redirect this trajectory through our work. OSEEF seeks a dynamic, detail-oriented solar industry professional to train Oregonians on the basics of solar installation. The core of this position is education: public speaking, developing curriculum, and conducting hands-on training. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OSEEF is participating in several grants and contracts to expand the solar workforce, with a focus on communities that have previously been left out. This position is responsible for: ● Teaching • Giving in-person presentations to pre-apprenticeship programs, high school, and other audiences regarding solar installation jobs • Instructing students during hands-on training regarding the basics of solar installation • Creating and updating curriculum ● Logistics • Coordinating with multiple pre-apprenticeship programs, schools, and other programs to provide training and presentations • Coordinating logistics for hands-on training • Working with the Program Director to submit invoices and manage project budgets • Tracking trainings and presentations, including demographics • Recruiting new instructors and coordinating instructor trainings ● Volunteer Coordination o • Coordinating volunteer speakers to present at partner organizations • Coordinating trainings for volunteers • Expanding the pool of volunteers and supporting existing volunteers • QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE OSEEF seeks applicants with solar installation experience, experience training or instructing new employees or students, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and work independently. A successful candidate will have a passion for equity and experience working with communities of color and/or other historically disadvantaged communities. Manage and create content marketing assets across multiple channels, collaborate with teams to align marketing initiatives, oversee content calendars, and analyze marketing metrics to optimize engagement. | 3-5 years of content marketing experience, strong writing and editing skills, proficiency with CMS and analytic tools like WordPress and Google Analytics, graphic design skills especially with Adobe programs, and experience with Eloqua, Power BI, and NetSuite preferred. | Description: • Drive our content marketing scheduling, keeping our team aligned through all marketing initiatives. • Develop, write, and edit creative concepts and content for all marketing assets, both long and short including but not limited to website, email, graphics, and social. • Collaborate with various departments on content to drive engagement that reaches company goals. • Collaborate with marketing team on SEO development and optimization. • Support strategy for video and podcast content development. • Collaborate with team and company experts on the ideation and creation of video and audio content. • Manage the high quality pre- and post-production process of all media content to meet brand standards. • Assist in managing content calendars, ensuring timely delivery of materials and alignment with marketing campaigns. • Work with cross-functional teams, including design, sales, and product development, to ensure cohesive messaging and branding. • Collaborate with team and company experts on the ideation and creation of video and video content. • Own the management and organization of all assets to support team’s streamlined processes. • Align content planning to company and department strategic goals through collaboration with marketing team and other departments. • Lead sharing of appropriate content to internal stakeholders, inspiring action when necessary. • Build email content in email platform (Eloqua). • Build and create copy for blog post content. • Understand and build the interconnection between marketing metrics and activities and translate into clear recommendations for the marketing team. • Review and maintain regular content analytics reviews that bring insightful learnings to our team. • Develop and manage social media strategy in alignment with marketing department objectives. • Manage and curate content for social media platforms, monitoring engagement and responding to inquiries in a timely manner. • Execute and optimize day-to-day social media activities to reach engagement goals. • Report on and lead plans for enhancements on social media efforts, making a clear connection to ROI.
