Category Manager, Resin Logistics The Category Manager (Logistics Procurement) is under the raw material (PET Resin) logistics procurement team. He or she is responsible for 3PL warehousing and dry bulk (pneumatic truck) transportation procurement and operations. This position plays a pivotal role in maximizing operational efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, it will identify opportunities to minimize Total Cost of Ownership, ensure supply continuity, and meet quality and service expectations. Moreover, it will lead procurement analysts in collaborating with the Procurement Director/Manager to establish procurement category strategies for their respective areas. The preferred candidate should possess robust analytical abilities alongside considerable experience in logistics procurement and operations Essential Functions • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all category influencers and become the business- wide category subject matter expert from both a strategic and operational perspective. • Lead a team to development of procurement strategies and plans for the category together with stakeholders that would reduce our Total Cost of Ownership and improve traceability, quality, service, and innovation. • Lead a team on daily operations to deliver PET resin from 3PL warehouses to Niagara plants via pneumatic truck effectively and efficiently • Own RFx processes from creation to completion to generate multiple viable bids; Anticipate, negotiate, and execute commercial contracts on time within the assigned categories under the supervision of the Procurement Manager/Director. • Facilitates collaboration across all internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to external carriers and internal teams such as Plants, Planning, Finance, AP, QA and legal departments. • Own, standardize and optimize the Procure-to-pay process for the category. • Build and manage KPI’s (key performance indicator) for the category and hold corresponding parties (such as carriers, plants etc.) accountable. • Conduct carrier monthly/quarterly business review. • Lead system integration and upgrade, such as OTM (Oracle Transportation Management) implementation. • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all key suppliers and internal stakeholders; Has a positive attitude and is able to inspire and motivate the team during crisis. • Obtain data from varied sources to identify and support fact-driven opportunities.
