Performing data intake, preparation, analysis, and reporting to support legal and business objectives. | Requires proficiency in statistical programming (e.g., STATA), managing complex datasets, and relevant experience in employment law data analysis. | This position is primarily accountable for billable project work in support of the Client Data Solutions & Analysis (CDSA) team. In all client-facing work, the analyst will work in conjunction with a Littler Attorney. This is a Hybrid position and can be resident in any US city where Littler has an office. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Actively participates in intake of client data for Data Analytics (CDSA) projects. • Ensures data is complete, arranged, formatted, and structured as needed for accurate and efficient analysis of same • Responsible for combining multiple datasets from clients to support desired analysis, including preparation of comprehensive graphic coverage reports • Responsible for partnership with attorneys and clients to pinpoint to prioritize data needed to support desired analysis • Assessment of data as related to the desired approach and outcomes • Responsible for rapid and accurate assessment of data thoroughness and appropriateness relative to the business objectives desired • Ensures statistical method chosen is appropriate given data and attorney’s desired business objectives. • As appropriate, may advise attorneys on appropriate analytical methods given the state of available data • When assigned as the Quality Control (“QC” Analyst) on a project, reviews and supervises the Lead Analyst (typically a Data Analyst II or another Senior Data Analyst) work and progress. • When assigned as the QC Analyst, is responsible for reviewing the scope of the data and requests made by the Littler Attorney(s) in order to formulate and determine the technical method of preparing the analysis and working with the Lead Analyst in achieving the desired result. • Independent analysis client data • Responsible for efficient, accurate statistical modeling and analysis of client data in support of attorney-driven business objectives. Analysis will center around issues related to employment law (e.g. pay equity, reductions in force, and wage & hour) • Summary and presentation of findings • Accountable for summary and presentation of findings with fidelity to the statistical results produced • Ensures final summaries are approachable and consumable by attorneys and clients who may not have advanced training in statistics or related fields • As required, ensures analysis is practical and scalable by including multiple scenarios • Partners with attorneys to finalize summary and presentation of findings • When assigned as QC Analyst, responsible for reviewing the quality of the work prior to submission to the attorneys and ensuring the final reporting comports with the original project request. • Information security • Ensures all work (including sending and receipt of data) conforms with Littler and client data security protocols • For assigned projects, is responsible for the assessment and quality control of specific techniques, code and tools used by other analyst team members • QUALIFICATIONS: • Demonstrated proficiency in common statistical programming packages such as STATA • Demonstrated familiarity with standard statistical tests • Demonstrated ability to manage complex datasets • Demonstrated ability to combine a variety of datasets into a single comprehensive dataset to be used for manipulation and statistical analysis • Demonstrated ability to express complex ideas simply, including ability to work with non-statisticians and clearly communicate output. • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as a team member and exercise sound discretion and judgment. • Demonstrated ability to review the work of others, problem solve on a higher level with respect to more complex issues than a Data Analyst II. Research to be performed using the firm’s various legal research tools including Lexis, West, BNA and state and federal government websites. This is a remote position located in Kansas City, MO. Responsibilities • Responsible for preparing concise, objective summaries of complex legal issues related to employment and labor laws, within strict deadlines, in a tone accessible to a range of audiences including attorneys and HR personnel. • Responsible for editing own written work product and other materials upon request to ensure clarity, accuracy (in spelling, punctuation and grammar), consistency in style/format, and compliance with the Firm’s style, grammar and formatting guidelines. • Responsible for conducting legal citation verification and fact verification of non-legal information referenced in own written material and other materials upon request, including legal citations, dates, statistics, spelling of names, places, organizations, verification of agency address and contact phone numbers.
