Develop and customize high-quality legal proposals, manage proposal projects, collaborate with attorneys and business teams, and maintain proposal content databases. | Bachelor's degree, minimum 7 years marketing/business writing experience, strong proficiency with legal research and proposal software, and preferably paralegal or law firm experience. | Littler is seeking a Sr. Proposal Writer to join a proposal team focused on developing proposals for legal work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This position can be worked remotely from anywhere in the United States. If resident in Kansas City, MO, this position will be hybrid. Pursuant to California, Colorado, Houston, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Vermont and Washington regulation, the salary range for this position is $85,000 to $128,000 annually and includes eligibility for performance-based bonuses. Responsibilites • Produce high-quality, customized proposals for RFPs and sales pitch-meetings. Ensure proposals are tailored to each opportunity, follow structure required by RFP, and reflect best practices. • Participate in strategy development through research, discussion with attorneys, collaboration with business development and pricing team, and knowledge of industry. Research and write new content as needed, adhering to style guidelines and incorporating feedback from multiple stakeholders. • Ensure content on internal databases relevant to proposal processes is up to date and can be leveraged for other opportunities. • Interpret and present data needed for RFP responses, coordinating with multiple departments and ensuring accuracy. • Train and mentor new team members on proposal construction and customization, identifying value propositions, and firm differentiators. • Manage proposal projects, coordinating with multiple team members, adhering to deadlines, and ensuring responsive service to internal stakeholders. • Develop content for new service lines, practice areas, and innovative offerings, including establishing best practices for use and related training processes. • Collaborate with writers working on complex opportunities, including assessing strategy, incorporating innovative services, reviewing drafts, and ensuring customization to each opportunity. • Maintain and expand team experience management database and train staff in accessing and incorporating experience in proposals. • Monitor new proposal and industry trends and present to team. Qualifications • Demonstrated ability to manage numerous competing priorities effectively under tight deadlines with minimal guidance while participating as a team member. • Demonstrated ability to manage projects in a team environment while maintaining the integrity and strategic vision of the product. • Demonstrated ability to create new and update/enhance existing content such as relevant experiences, capabilities, and value-adds. • Demonstrated ability to identify appropriate research needed in order to respond to questions outlined in proposals and case complaints. • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint and Dynamics, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Copilot. • Strong proficiency with proposal generation and content management systems, such as QorusDocs and NetDocs. • Proficient in research applications such as Lex Machina and Westlaw. • Strong ability to write and edit proposals, content, and pitch materials with minimal guidance and direction. • Strong presence: capable of engaging credibly and effectively with attorneys. Perform multi-jurisdictional legal research on labor and employment topics and prepare clear, concise legal summaries under strict deadlines. | JD degree with admission to practice law, 2-5 years legal experience in labor and employment law, strong writing and proofreading skills, and proficiency with legal research tools. | The Knowledge Management Research Attorney is responsible for effectively performing multi-jurisdictional legal research and analyzing issues on a variety of labor and employment topics. Jurisdictional coverage includes federal law and all 50 states plus the District of Columbia, as well as local jurisdictions that regulate labor and employment. Research to be performed using the firm’s various legal research tools including Lexis, West, BNA and state and federal government websites. This is a remote position located in Kansas City, MO. Responsibilities • Responsible for preparing concise, objective summaries of complex legal issues related to employment and labor laws, within strict deadlines, in a tone accessible to a range of audiences including attorneys and HR personnel. • Responsible for editing own written work product and other materials upon request to ensure clarity, accuracy (in spelling, punctuation and grammar), consistency in style/format, and compliance with the Firm’s style, grammar and formatting guidelines. • Responsible for conducting legal citation verification and fact verification of non-legal information referenced in own written material and other materials upon request, including legal citations, dates, statistics, spelling of names, places, organizations, verification of agency address and contact phone numbers. Comply with firm and ethical rules on the use of AI tools. • Responsible for working on projects with general direction and minimal guidance in a deadline-intensive environment. • Responsible for prioritizing and coordinating multiple legal research projects to meet strict deadlines. Qualifications • Knowledge of the U.S. legal system and legislative and regulatory processes required with knowledge and experience with employment and labor law. • Experience with content management systems, blogs and on-line communities a plus. Familiarity with basic HTML and WYSIWYG editors a plus. • Excellent vocabulary, spelling, grammar and proofreading skills. • Excellent oral and written communication skills; interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and to provide information in a professional manner. • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Education & Certifications Required: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Must be admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
