Governance Project Manager

KunaiAnywhereFull-time
View Job
Compensation$90K - 130K a year

Manage governance and risk projects end-to-end, lead remediation efforts, implement governance frameworks, communicate progress to stakeholders, and build reporting tools to ensure regulatory compliance. | Requires 5+ years project management experience in regulated industries, familiarity with governance, risk, compliance or audit processes, strong communication skills, and proficiency with project management tools like JIRA and MS Project. | Kunai builds full-stack technology solutions for banks, credit and payment networks, infrastructure providers, and their customers. Together, we are changing the world’s relationship with financial services. At Kunai, we help our clients modernize, capitalize on emerging trends, and evolve their business for the coming decades by remaining tech-agnostic and human-centered. We’re looking for a Project Manager to join a Governance team responsible for the migration of compliance, risk, and regulatory oversight for a leading banking client. In this role, you’ll help drive initiatives that strengthen risk management and compliance across the bank. You won’t just manage tasks; you’ll be the connector between risk, compliance, legal, audit, and business teams, making sure the bank delivers on its commitments to customers, leadership, and regulators. What You’ll Do Take ownership of governance and risk projects from start to finish — planning, execution, tracking, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. Lead remediation work tied to regulatory or audit findings. That means setting clear milestones, assigning ownership, and ensuring projects wrap up on time and to standard. Help roll out new governance frameworks and policies across the bank, working with teams to make sure changes stick and are understood. Keep everyone informed with clear updates — whether it’s a detailed progress report for auditors or a concise summary for executives. Build tools and reports (dashboards, trackers, risk registers) that keep leadership confident we’re on track. Act as the “glue” between cross-functional groups, helping remove roadblocks and making sure priorities stay aligned. What We’re Looking For 5+ years of project management experience, ideally in banking, financial services, or another highly regulated industry. Familiarity with governance, risk, compliance, or audit processes. You don’t need to be a lawyer or risk officer, but you should know how these worlds connect. A bias for action. You’re the type who likes to cut through ambiguity, create structure, and make steady progress. Strong communication skills — you can tailor your message whether you’re talking with engineers, risk managers, or board members. Comfort with project management tools (JIRA, MS Project, Confluence). Why This Role Matters In banking, governance is about more than rules — it’s about trust. The work you do will help ensure we operate responsibly, protect our customers, and maintain confidence with regulators and stakeholders. If you enjoy managing meaningful projects, building relationships, and making complex environments run more smoothly, this is a great opportunity to have a real impact. Our success over the past 20 years is rooted in our exceptional team, which thrives in a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning. We are proud to offer our employees a range of benefits, including competitive compensation, professional development opportunities, and flexible work arrangements, all designed to help them thrive. As we continue to expand, we remain committed to cultivating an environment where people feel valued, have a voice, and are given the tools to grow—both personally and professionally—while pushing the boundaries of innovation in the fintech industry. Platform Product Manager

Compensation$120K - 180K a year

Own and manage the end-to-end migration product, coordinate cross-functional teams, define success metrics, and communicate progress to leadership. | 5+ years product management experience in internal platforms or developer tools, strong technical knowledge of modern development practices, and excellent communication skills. We’re looking for an experienced Product Manager to take on an important initiative in our clients platform journey: a large-scale migration that touches developers across the company. You’ll own the process end-to-end, treat migration like a product in its own right, and design an experience that minimizes disruption while helping teams adopt with confidence. Key Responsibilities Own the end-to-end program, guiding everything from a fast-moving two-week discovery sprint to the long-tail execution of customer migration and adoption. Define the “migration product” by building and managing the roadmap, creating clear success metrics like adoption velocity and risk reduction, and producing helpful resources such as documentation, communication plans, and support playbooks. Be the voice of the customer by deeply understanding the pain points internal developers face when migrations are forced on them. Advocate for their needs and design solutions that respect their workflows. Bring teams together by coordinating across Security, CI/CD Platform, Model Serving, and numerous customer groups. You’ll be the glue that keeps priorities and dependencies aligned. Communicate clearly and effectively, whether you’re updating executive leadership on progress or guiding engineering teams through technical details of the migration. Ideal Candidate Profile 5+ years of product management experience, with a strong background in internal platforms, infrastructure, or developer tools. A solid grasp of modern development practices, including containers like Docker and Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure. If you’ve worked directly with security vulnerability management (CVEs), that’s a big plus. A knack for influence, able to rally large, cross-functional groups and make progress without relying on direct authority. A bias for action. You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, breaking down complex problems into manageable steps, and driving execution under pressure. Strong communication skills, you can explain technical concepts in ways that resonate equally with engineers and executives. Why This Role Matters This is more than a migration. You’ll help teams move forward with less friction, more trust, and greater confidence, while playing a key role in scaling innovation securely across a leading bank.
