GSK’s US vaccines business and Sales team is designed to support the unique needs of the customer base in the given geography. In a local market, there are multiple customer-facing roles, each with unique customers/call points, but all dependent upon a high degree of collaboration. The Pediatric Immunization Specialist, or ISP, is a pivotal role, responsible for engaging health care providers (HCPs) to drive uptake of GSK vaccines. The role of the ISP is to educate HCPs on both disease state and the approved GSK vaccine solutions. The ISP must possess strong customer engagement skills, along with a strong knowledge of GSK vaccines, competitor vaccines, and public health guidelines in order to represent GSK vaccines product and portfolio value proposition. The ISP must also collaborate closely with first line leaders and other field teams, including Account Management and Contracting Specialists. Responsibilities: • The Immunization Specialist will develop and maintain specialized expertise in vaccine therapeutic areas, products and markets. • Demonstrate knowledge of GSK pediatric and adolescent vaccines, competitive products and GSK promotional strategies and objectives to meet customer needs. This includes knowledge of contracting structures for GSK and competitor portfolios. • Demonstrate high-level selling skills, including account-based selling, strategic thinking, drive for results, and the ability to ask for the business. • Demonstrate the ability to provide value to each targeted account through proper blending of science & service based upon each account’s individual needs. • Demonstrate the ability to effectively follow public health guidelines and use the vaccines sales process in a way that engages customers and supports them in their effort to vaccinate or refer their patients. • Demonstrate ability to drive vaccination uptake in both Private (e.g. Health systems and independent) and public sector (e.g. Vaccines for Children, Health Department, Federally Qualified Health Centers) providers • Collaborate with the broader field-based teams, including Account Managers and Contract Specialists, to help pull through GSK vaccine business. • Effectively utilize and provide feedback on marketing content and digital tools to help optimize and evolve them. Job Purpose We are seeking an innovative and motivated individual highly experienced in genetics and translational medicine to join the Translational & Clinical Genetics team, which sits within the GSK Human Genetics and Genomics organisation. The successful candidate will conduct hands-on data analyses and provide strategic leadership within cross-functional scientific teams to identify, develop and deliver novel programmes of work to impact the GSK pipeline. You will have deep expertise in genetics, and experience of integrating genetics with genomics (for example, proteomics) and clinical phenotypes in data analyses. Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: • Medical degree • PhD or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. translational genetics, genetic epidemiology, biomedical statistics, computational sciences, bioinformatics or machine learning) • Documented academic and/or clinical research publication history or history of medical practice in the fields noted above. • Broad clinical knowledge across therapeutic areas and experience of clinical research to investigate translational questions. • Hands-on substantial experience of working with genetic data and conducting novel analyses that integrate genetics with genomics (for example, proteomics) and clinical phenotypes to deliver novel insights. • Demonstrated ability to understand a given scientific question and design and deliver innovative analyses customised to address the question with expert interpretation and recommendations in an academic translational medicine and/or drug discovery and development setting. • Experience and/or demonstrable understanding of appropriate use of relative and absolute summary measures to aid interpretation of comparisons between groups and the clinical utility of novel findings. • Proficiency in at least one of R and Python, with a track record of writing reproducible and scalable code • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences. • Excellent collaboration and partnership skills to work effectively with a broad range of cross-functional internal and external stakeholders. • Knowledgeable of the stages of drug discovery and development with demonstrable understanding of biomarkers and precision medicine concepts.
