Build and lead Groq’s government relations strategy, advise leadership on policy issues, and manage relationships with policymakers and external vendors. | Over 12 years of experience in government relations or public policy, established relationships with government agencies and industry groups, and experience managing advocacy functions. | Director, Government Relations Mission: As Groq’s Director, Government Relations, you will architect and lead our government relations function from the ground up. Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, you’ll serve as Groq’s chief ambassador to policymakers, regulators, and relevant government stakeholders at national, state, and local levels in the United States and around the world. You’ll work closely with the executive team to shape and execute Groq’s public policy strategy, drive engagement on emerging legislative and regulatory issues, and amplify Groq’s thought leadership in the rapidly evolving AI ecosystem. Responsibilities & opportunities in this role: Design, launch, and scale Groq’s global government relations strategy in alignment with enterprise objectives and values. Serve as the key advisor to Groq’s executive leadership on public policy trends, risks, and opportunities relevant to our business. Build, sustain, and elevate relationships with key policymakers, government agencies, and relevant industry associations. You’ll spend many of your days representing Groq at meetings, conferences and other events. Develop and execute Groq’s positions on legislative and regulatory matters. Identify, engage, and oversee relationships with external government relations vendors, consultants, and counsel to amplify our reach and expertise. Craft policy briefings, testimony, external communications, and responses to regulatory inquiries with clarity, accuracy, and impact. Partner across all functions—including Legal, Engineering, Operations, Communications, and Sales—to ensure alignment and readiness on legislative and regulatory developments. Ideal candidates have/are: 12+ years of experience in government relations, public policy, or federal/state government affairs, ideally with exposure to technology and/or semiconductor sectors Demonstrated track record of building and scaling an advocacy function, preferably within a high-growth technology company Established relationships with decision makers and leadership in key federal and/or state agencies, congressional committees, and relevant industry consortia Experience managing outside consultants and vendors Deep understanding of U.S. public policy, legislative and regulatory processes, with a preference for global policy experience Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in law, public policy, or related field preferred Proven ability to think critically and strategically, understanding the company's business goals and objectives, and developing government relations strategies to support those goals. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment with limited direction and at times imperfect information, balance competing priorities, and manage several time-sensitive projects at once. For this role, the base salary range is $360,700 to $424,400, determined by your location, skills, qualifications, experience and internal benchmarks. This range is specific to roles in the United States, compensation for candidates outside the USA will be dependent on the local market. Responsibilities & Opportunities In This Role • Bring-up & Silicon Characterization • Validation of C2C, PCIe, CXL, DDRx, LPDDR controller/chips • Validation of SRAM and Vmin optimization • Scripting and test data processing to extract meaningful signals • Develop and integrate software test applications for effective product stress and SLT screening and collaborate with software teams to evaluate system performance and HW/SW interaction under various conditions. • SLT test time optimization, including shift right strategies STL to ATE • Test time, DPM, & yield optimization for effective production screens • Root cause analysis and RMA processing • Mentor Junior Engineers when the project need arises • Experience in Post Silicon Electrical Validation of server processors (if server processor is too specific, you can remove server) Ideal Candidates Have/are • Silicon validation experience, preferably in the area of SERDES, DDR or high-speed interface design. BE or ME Graduate • Experience in system marginality validation • Good understanding of lab equipment and measurement techniques for high-speed interfaces. High speed scopes, probes, spectrum analyzers, BERTs. • Knowledge of board and package design, signal integrity and power integrity a plus • Knowledge of DDR trainings and memory system operation a plus • Software proficiency for python test scripting, data handling and reporting • Laboratory experience, including hands-on use of equipment: oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc. • Excellent problem-solving skills, good communication skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment • Debug issues with SOC IP and boards as needed. Lead, Systems Quality and Reliability Mission: You will own, build, and manage the RMA and FA debug and root-cause analysis for existing and new Groq AI / ML products. You will conduct tests, FA debug, and root-cause analysis. Responsibilities & opportunities in this role: • Conduct and lead debug and root-cause analysis of field RMAs. Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Hardware Engineers, Software Engineers and Operations Engineers as required. • Scale Root Cause Failure Analysis capabilities within your organization. • Create Failure Analysis result reports that align with standard 8D or similar processes • Develop and optimize RMA testing strategy to improve timeliness and effectiveness of characterization process • Analyze RMA, Failure Analysis, and Repair data. Identify trends and raise quality alerts when necessary. Drive resolution, containment, and mitigation plans for such quality alerts. • Oversee hardware quality performance, monitoring field quality data and associated metrics including RMA Rates, MTBF, and Reliability Ratio. • Manage operational performance of Failure Analysis at contract manufacturer(s), ensuring partner(s) achieve key performance indicators, including FA cycle times, fault duplication rates, and fault isolation rates. • Drive learning's from RMA / FA back into Manufacturing, Engineering, and Support teams. • Oversee the set-up of new products into Failure Analysis operations.
