You Will • Design, configure and/or develop, deploy, optimize, monitor and improve systems and business applications. Set standards for operating procedures and advises on best practices for engineers. • Support team activities (daily status meetings, tech huddle topics, desk checks) and pairing with peers to work on stories • Regularly evaluates current business processes, applications, systems, and identifies potential improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Uses each task/story as an opportunity to embed improvements. • Provide coaching and mentoring to junior engineers You Have • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • 5 years of configuration and/or development experience in a broad range of hardware & software products. SAP WM, SAP Stock Room Management, s/4 Hana EWM, GTS, TMS, etc. • Abilitu to design, develop, test, and deploy applications/ systems using proven technologies within a variety of technologies and environments. Knowledge of specific programming languages and techniques. Works autonomously with limited guidance. • Directs the application of existing principles and guides development of new policies and ideas • Proficient troubleshooting (within multiple systems) and problem-solving skills • Embeds data analytics capabilities and understanding of key business data models Development Focus And Scope • Experience across multiple technical and functional domains maintained by team • Consistently practice engineering sensible defaults on the team • Ability to triage issues in production • Knowledge of how systems fit into Grainger enterprise architecture • Working towards a robust understanding of Grainger’s end-to-end business including ability to explain how key tech initiatives are contributing to the business and how our growth drivers work. • Demonstrates general curiosity, customer-focus and peer leadership with a focus on making their team better. • Strong debugging and analytical skills, with an understanding of code logic, even if not writing production code. • Experience with SAP HANA platforms and integration with external systems (WES/WCS). • Familiarity with IDocs, API’s, RFCs, BAPIs, and interface error handling. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to bridge business and technical stakeholders. • Comfortable working in agile, fast-paced, and warehouse/operations-driven environments.
