In this role, you will manage, move, and organize inventory between storage areas, production lines, and loading docks, maintaining high levels of accuracy, safety, and operational efficiency at every stage. Role and Responsibilities: As a Inventory Control Specialist, you will support warehouse operations by safely and efficiently handling materials. Key responsibilities include: • Unload shipments from trucks and rail cars, carefully handling fragile or large items and placing them in designated storage areas. • Transport inventory to storage locations or prepare products for shipment, ensuring proper labeling, stacking, and protection from damage. • Inspect products during unloading, identify shortages, damages, or defects, and report any issues immediately to supervisors. • Deliver raw materials to production stations to maintain smooth workflows and timely production schedules. • Perform regular inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts and other warehouse equipment to ensure safe and continuous operation. • Keep accurate records of inventory movement, forklift use, and other warehouse activities to ensure precise inventory control. • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA regulations to maintain a secure and organized work environment. • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet operational goals and ensure timely shipment of products. Required Skills and Experience: • Experience operating forklifts or working in warehouse, distribution, or logistics environments. • Knowledge of industrial equipment and safe material handling techniques. • Strong attention to detail to inspect materials and maintain task accuracy. • Physical stamina and coordination to safely lift, move, and operate equipment. • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting. • Forklift certification is required. • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Understanding of safety procedures to maintain a secure workplace for yourself and colleagues. Preferred Qualifications: • Additional certifications or training in warehouse safety or operational procedures. Physical Demands: • Standing for extended periods and lifting items up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis. • Frequent operation of forklifts and other warehouse machinery. • Manual handling and safe movement of heavy items. Working Environment: • Warehouse or distribution center environment with potential exposure to varying temperatures. • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including helmets, safety vests, and steel-toed boots, is required.
