Manage and retain customer relationships, negotiate contract renewals and price increases, support sales and customer service retention, and utilize Salesforce daily to track sales activities. | 2+ years of solid waste industry experience preferred, high school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred, strong communication and sales skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. | Key Responsibilities: • Serve as a point of contact for existing service areas by establishing, managing, and retaining key business relationships for permanent commercial and industrial customers. • Effectively support the retention process when needed in both sales and customer service capacity, negotiate to retain (core accounts) in-bound calls related to lost business due to competitive reasons. • Respond to both inbound calls and certified mail cancellation letters. • Manage and retain the customer relationship through contract renewals, negotiations, and price increases. • Perform outbound collections calls and assist with billing issues as required. • Complete all required paperwork and other miscellaneous reports. • Support the Account Management team in overflow for all increases and decreases in service, change of ownership and other miscellaneous service changes that affect revenue. • Assist with Customer Relations queue, as required. • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the company’s available services, lines of business, pricing structures, and offers additional services as appropriate to existing customers. • Utilize SalesForce.com on a daily basis, scheduling and documenting all activities for new business opportunities. • Responsible for achieving and/or exceeding monthly quota on net new business and price achievement. • Conduct weekly phone blocking and all aspects of Activity Standard associated with role. • Responsible for an effective hand off process from new account attainment to existing account development. • Responsible for creating and managing an account penetration plan that is in line with the company’s growth objectives. • Responsible for proactive customer phone calls, contract renewals and negotiations, as well as customer defection. • Utilize Salesforce on a daily basis, scheduling and documenting all activities, effective management of a sales pipeline. • Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Knowledge Skills and Abilities: • Demonstrated sales experience with a proven track record of exceeding revenue quotas and managing a book of business. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members, management, employees and customers in an efficient and professional manner. • Strong interpersonal skills, including effective listening, problem solving, and negotiating skills. • Advanced organizational and time management skills. • Self-managed, with strong work ethic demonstrating integrity and trust. • Flexibility to accept and adapt to change as well as the commitment to seek continuous improvement. • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office. Requirements: • 2+ years of solid waste industry experience (preferred). • High School diploma or GED. • Bachelor's degree in business administration, advertising, marketing or related field (preferred). As the Human Resources Manager, you will build high-functioning partnerships with business groups, senior leaders, and managers. Your role will be critical in developing and executing business unit and cross-functional strategies that align with GFL’s vision and objectives, enhancing our HR best practices. Your Impact: • Strategic Partnership: Act as a strategic partner by providing employee and labor relations advice, support, and guidance. Assist the Ontario region in achieving their operational goals through effective policy and legislation interpretation/compliance. • Employee Engagement: Lead engagement with employee groups and union representatives focusing on communication, planning, and problem-solving to ensure excellent employee and labor relations. • HR Services Implementation: Implement HR programs including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, total rewards, health and wellness benefits, training and development, records management, employee health and safety, succession planning, employee retention, and HR compliance. • Conflict Resolution: Provide resolutions to employee relations issues by conducting thorough and objective investigations. • Performance Improvement: Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating potential solutions, and implementing selected solutions. Provide coaching and counseling to managers and employees. • Data Analysis: Develop and analyze reports to provide fiscal justification for personnel activities related to staffing levels, turnover, absenteeism, talent acquisition, compensation, promotions, and employee productivity. • Legal Compliance: Ensure that all relevant law and regulations are considered to ensure HR compliance. You Have • Must have experience working in a Unionized environment • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources. CHRP designation is an asset. • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in progressive human resources roles, especially in large, complex and multi-stakeholder environments. • Strong leadership skills with a focus on results and teamwork, and a client service orientation. • Advanced knowledge of current Canadian labor laws, Human Rights, and Employment Standards. Ability to resolve matters independently while using appropriate judgment to seek guidance as needed. • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal. • Demonstrated experience in writing professional documentation such as policies, procedures, labor briefings, business cases, disciplinary or corrective actions, and corporate memorandums. • The ability to travel to various GFL locations.
