What is a Development Professional? A Development Professional builds long-term, sustainable connections between donors and the mission of the organization. This means: • Building trust through ongoing communication and engagement. • Cultivating relationships with donors and prospects over time. • Educating supporters about our mission and impact. • Ensuring stewardship, appreciation, and retention of supporters. Key Responsibilities • Solicit donations, pledges, and sponsorships through events, campaigns, and personal outreach. • Research and identify potential donors, sponsors, and partners. • Develop and maintain strong, lasting donor relationships. • Create and implement strategies to grow both immediate fundraising and long-term development. • Collaborate with leadership on messaging, campaigns, and stewardship initiatives. • Track outreach, pledges, and donor activity to ensure accountability.
