They are responsible for managing billing staff, developing and implementing billing policies and procedures, and resolving any billing-related issues. The Group Lead Billing & CoE also oversees the Center of Excellence team that studies and develops optimization changes to an organization's business processes to improve operational efficiencies, quality, service, and profitability. Oversee the in-depth analysis of existing workflows. May utilize flowcharts and process maps to define existing processes and identify areas needing improvement. Engages and organizes the tools required to collect and measure relevant data, identify key performance indicators (KPI), and produce a data-driven analysis of critical functions. Introduces new business processes to the organization and produces documentation, tools, and training to support adoption. Essential Functions: In addition to the activities as prescribed above, specific responsibilities of this role may include: • Lead and direct the billing team, providing guidance, coaching, and training • Oversee the Center of Excellence by providing guidance and coaching when necessary • Monitor billing activities, ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing • Address and resolve complex billing issues • Establish a Center of Excellence for billing practices and provide guidance and support to the team and stakeholders across the organization. • Identify and resolve workflow issues, implement process improvements, and optimize billing operations • Monitor and analyze billing metrics to identify trends, address issues, and provide insights to senior management. • Ensure compliance with relevant billing regulations and policies along with financial regulations and industry standards relating to billing and invoicing practices. • Train new team members and provide ongoing support to improve skills and knowledge • Review billing data, identify trends, and generate reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement • Serve as a point of contact for questions and concerns from team members and other departments. • Assist Collections team with billing related questions Staff Management Responsible for ensuring area of responsibility has the talent and resources to meet short- and long-term organizational goals as well as ensuring maximum productivity and performance.
