Position Summary The Account Manager is primarily responsible for maintaining and growing volume of current customers within a territory. The responsibilities include driving growth at existing accounts, nurturing and fostering deep customer intimacy, positioning Caris as the sole source for all relevant tumor profiling, and supporting the Molecular Oncology Specialist in acquiring new accounts within the assigned territory, including identifying and establishing prospective accounts. This role is also responsible for ensuring customer expectations are exceeded on all orders from initial generation to receipt of lab report. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years sales experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or diagnostic industry with demonstrated success in account management, upselling, cross-selling, and driving organic growth at existing accounts. Job Responsibilities Work closely with Customers, Client Service Partners, Molecular Oncology Specialists (MOSs), Regional Business Directors, and other support personnel to provide the highest level of customer support and satisfaction. Regularly and consistently call on customers to introduce and promote assigned Caris solutions including Molecular Intelligence testing, technology interfaces, physician consultations, etc Successfully executes customer retention. Interacts with existing customers to establish a value-based relationship resulting in increased sales and service to clients. Evaluates current and prospective customer sites and prepares strategies & programs to improve revenue, costs, and productivity. Ability to present and demonstrate different Caris’s technology solutions. Establish a frequent communication schedule with MOS teammate, Client Services and appropriate Commercial Leadership to exchange client feedback, success stories, challenges, and best-practices. Provide appropriate value customer information and updates via CRM. Develop and maintain “practical” knowledge of competitive products, services, technology solutions, and reimbursement/billing issues as well as knowledge of molecular profiling technology solutions and competitive strategies through the use of company resources, marketing material, sales brochures and on the job experience Establish and maintain open lines of communication with key personnel in assigned accounts and escalate issues when customer satisfaction is jeopardized. Maintain all assigned company assets including laptop computer, iPhone, etc. Submit all necessary paperwork, including travel itineraries, trip reports, activity reports, monthly reports, expense, and service reports, as required, accurately and in a timely manner. This role will be quality the subject matter expert for software development of medical device and computerized systems. File cases in proper accession number and/or activation date order at various staging areas throughout the laboratory. Label slides based on ordered tests and triage slides to the Molecular and IHC departments for testing. Match stained H&Es with their corresponding IHCs, NFRs, and unstained slides, verify sample labeling, and distribute materials to the IHC and Pathology departments. File glass slides in proper accession number order after IHC/ISH interpretation by a Pathologist. Retrieve slides from storage for clinical and/or research testing. Monitor the department email inbox and address inquiries in a timely manner. Thoroughly document case activities within the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and SharePoint database when necessary. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment including automated H&E and NFR stainers, Whole Slide Scanners, slide printers, label printers, and basic office equipment. Properly and safely dispose of hazardous waste. Work cross-functionally with various departments including IHC, Lab Operations, Accessioning, PAs, and Pathologists. Routinely ensure quality by confirming sample labeling and documentation match the Laboratory Information System (LIS) at all workstations. Assist as needed to perform other related duties and special projects to support the laboratory as required. Accepts other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications Previous medical field or laboratory experience. Physical Demands Will work at a computer some of the time and use office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, and PDF scanners. Visual acuity and analytical skill to distinguish fine detail. Ability to pass a visual color discrimination test. Manual dexterity to use common laboratory equipment and perform sterile techniques as required. Must possess ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. Must possess ability to perform repetitive motion. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. May have exposure to high noise levels in the data center, fumes and bio-hazardous material in the lab environment. Exposure to formaldehyde, xylene, DAB and alcohol which emit fumes. The formaldehyde, xylene, and DAB are carcinogenic. May be required to handle blood-borne pathogens and general laboratory reagents. May have exposure to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, fumes and biohazardous material/chemicals including formalin in the lab environment.
