Work with branch manager to help maintain accurate minimum balance levels for inventory in distribution warehouses and communicate with branch managers when customer’s specifications change or projects end so we do not have excess inventory in warehouses for these changes. Work with other distribution branches to sell returned product within their territory when specifications allow and provide customer service with account specification within the territory to help expedite quotes/orders for customers accurately. Navigate on hand inventory report to sell inventory that can often get “lost” in the system if not managed and monitored properly. Understand warehouse process and help pack and ship orders for end of month/quarter if needed. Be the main point of contact for customers, account managers, & field support specialists for issues within the accounts and provide quick solutions. Make decisions quickly to resolve issues with a cradle to grave approach in taking ownership of all inquiries. Review bids, quotes, and orders to ensure accurate processing to minimize errors and assist in updating bids to ensure correct account maintenance is listed in Salesforce. Achieve and maintain a deep technical understanding of the product line, its capabilities, and its applicability into different customer applications. The Sales Engineer will support customers and internal stakeholders on Smart Cover Instrumentation products by providing application specific product recommendations and technical support. What You Will Contribute: The Sales Engineer will support customers and internal stakeholders on Smart Cover Instrumentation products by providing application specific product recommendations, technical support, assistance on sales quotations, and enhancing the knowledge base for Smart Cover products within the company. Like all members of the Sales department, the Sales Engineer is team oriented, self-directed, and highly responsive to customer needs, with the purpose of making it as easy as possible for our customers to choose, buy and use our products. This position requires up to 50% travel to support the needs of our customers and the business. While this position is listed as remote in Texas, the successful candidate must be in a major metropolitan area with a major airport. In addition to these tasks, the Sales Engineer will also be responsible for the following main accountabilities: The assignments will be to perform site surveys at customer locations to assess customers’ needs and requirements for planning, integrating, and implementing an updated SCADA automation/control system into the existing control equipment. Estimate all requirements of a proposed customer control system. Provide any additional documentation required to ensure a complete and successful control system implementation, following company documentation, procedures, and quotation templates. Provide customers’ process details to the level of algorithm creation. Maintain all survey records to ensure consistency and follow-up ability in the quotation process. Support the company installation department, contractor, and electrical contractors during the project implementation. The position requires a background or general knowledge in I&C (Instrumentation & Controls), including machine electrical control, HMI, SCADA, and general electrical construction requirements. The Successful will have in depth experience with: AutoCAD (the ability to read and interpret drawings) PLC’s control systems and ladder logic programming (generic) Electrical control panel drawings, including MCC, across-the-line, VFD, etc. Water and Wastewater industry instrumentation understanding Ability to understand electrical integration practices and techniques Electrical controls troubleshooting Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical field or equivalent 3+ years of technical and/or sales experience Intermediate Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Project management experience a plus A solid ability to communicate in written and verbal forms regarding scope and specifications to multiple audiences, including contractors, engineers, programmers, customers’ management, operators, and elected government officials.
