Full Description

Job Description: • Act as a Technical Advisor in the Sales Process • Partner with Account Managers, Channel Managers, Solution Architects, and distributors to design highly technical solutions that meet customer needs. • Support pre-sales activities including solution scoping, product demonstrations, technical presentations, and customer workshops. • Ensure proposed configurations appropriately leverage Badger Meter’s full product suite—software, hardware, and integrated systems. • Lead Post-Sales Technical Execution • Provide expert guidance on installation requirements, configuration, optimization, and system integration. • Deliver hands-on support during product deployment and troubleshooting to ensure successful implementation and sustained customer satisfaction. • Maintain engagement with customers after installation to reinforce long-term relationships and ensure solution performance. • Develop Technical Proposals & RFP Responses • Prepare detailed technical proposals, bid packages, and RFP submissions that reflect accuracy, feasibility, and customer alignment. • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure technical content supports organizational standards and sales strategies. • Guide Customers Through Technical Challenges • Engage directly with customers to understand operational constraints, technical needs, and compliance drivers within the water/wastewater, utility, or industrial sectors. • Recommend best-fit configurations that optimize system performance and meet regulatory or industry standards. • Educate & Mentor • Conduct technical training for internal teams and external customers, ensuring strong understanding of system capabilities and product applications. • Serve as a knowledge resource to junior staff, fostering ongoing technical skill development across the team. • Support Market Engagement • Represent Badger Meter at tradeshows, industry events, and technical seminars. • Demonstrate leadership in articulating the value of our smart water technologies to prospective customers and partners. • Stay ahead of emerging technology trends, competitive offerings, and industry shifts to ensure we remain the partner of choice for innovative water solutions. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Knowledge of water quality for Water Treatment and Wastewater treatment is a plus. • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, engineering, or a related field within water/wastewater or utility industry. • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems. • Ability to travel as needed for customer engagement and industry events.
