About the Role: Job Title: Java API Developer Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, test, and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs. • Build scalable microservices using modern backend frameworks and architecture patterns. • Integrate enterprise applications, databases, and third-party platforms through APIs. • Develop secure APIs using OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys, and OpenID Connect. • Create and maintain API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI specifications. • Optimize API performance, availability, scalability, and reliability. • Develop reusable backend services and business logic components. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend, Architecture, QA, DevOps, and Product Management. • Implement unit testing, integration testing, and automated API testing frameworks. • Monitor APIs, analyze logs, and troubleshoot production incidents. • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to secure coding standards and best practices. • Deploy and maintain applications using CI/CD pipelines. • Work in containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes. • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute throughout the software development lifecycle. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. • 3+ years of experience in backend/API development and integration. • Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs using Java, C#, Python, Go, or Node.js. • Experience with at least one modern backend framework such as Spring Boot, ASP.NET Core, Express.js, FastAPI, Micronaut, or Quarkus. • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases. • Knowledge of API security standards including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and OpenID Connect. • Experience with API documentation tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI. • Familiarity with source control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines. • Experience working with Docker and containerized applications. • Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. • Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and API automation testing. • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments. Desired Qualifications: • Banking and Financial Industry experience. • Experience working with additional backend frameworks, databases, and cloud technologies. • Knowledge of advanced DevOps practices and infrastructure automation tools. • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms. • Understanding of modern security protocols, API governance, and compliance requirements. • Experience with API lifecycle management and monitoring solutions. • Proficiency in additional testing frameworks and automated testing methodologies. Location: Manhattan, NY (Onsite Role) Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $100,000 - $120,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
