Key Responsibilities - Answer and manage high-volume inbound and outbound calls in a timely, courteous, and culturally sensitive manner. - Schedule, confirm, or reschedule appointments across multiple departments including medical, dental, and behavioral health services. - Triage and route patient inquiries appropriately, escalating urgent issues per clinic protocols. - Provide clear and accurate information regarding clinic services, hours, insurance, and eligibility requirements. - Support patients in understanding how to prepare for appointments, access follow-up care, or connect with other resources. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all interactions in the EPIC electronic health record (EHR) or call management system. - Collaborate with front desk, care coordination, and clinical teams to ensure continuity and quality of care. - Follow all HIPAA and privacy regulations when handling patient information. - Demonstrate cultural humility and a trauma-informed approach when interacting with patients from diverse backgrounds. Qualifications & Experience - Minimum 6 Months of experience in a healthcare call center, medical front office, or community health setting. - Bilingual (English and Spanish) Required. - Knowledge of Medical Terminology (in both English and Spanish) - Strong understanding of healthcare services, appointment scheduling, and basic medical terminology. - Experience working with underserved populations, including those affected by health disparities, is highly valued. - Knowledge of EPIC electronic health records (EHR) system and call management software.a plus. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on active listening, clarity, and empathy. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment. - Bilingual or multilingual abilities are strongly preferred in Bay area languages such as Spanish, Cantonese or Mandarin, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Arabic, Tigrinya or Amharic, Khmer (Cambodian) preferred.
