We’re seeking a Director of Coding Operations to join us. This is a remote position. As a Director of Coding Operations, you will oversee daily coding activities across multiple service modalities, ensuring the delivery of accurate, compliant, and timely coding services through a hybrid workforce that includes both internal teams and offshore partners. This role is responsible for operational performance, vendor oversight, and maintaining strong controls to support quality and turnaround standards. Some travel is required. What you’ll do: Direct day-to-day operations across multiple professional coding functions Balance and assign workload between internal staff and offshore vendor teams to achieve turnaround time and service level expectations Monitor and manage offshore vendor performance, including productivity, quality metrics, accuracy, and SLA compliance Lead internal and external coding audit programs to ensure accuracy and compliance Drive issue resolution, escalation processes, and corrective action initiatives in partnership with vendor leadership Use data-driven forecasting to plan staffing, manage capacity, and support budget development Convert complex operational and financial data into clear, actionable insights for leadership teams Design, maintain, and monitor operational dashboards for internal and vendor performance Prepare and oversee detailed reporting on audit findings, error trends, root cause analysis, and financial impact Partner with IT teams to identify system improvements, automation opportunities, and AI-assisted coding solutions Work closely with Coding Quality and Education teams to ensure operational adherence to regulatory and corporate standards Engage with clients, patients, and facility stakeholders as needed to resolve issues and strengthen professional relationships What you’ll bring to Zotec: Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience Current professional certification through AHIMA or AAPC Willingness to travel as needed Minimum of five years’ experience leading geographically dispersed medical coding teams with deep expertise in revenue cycle and coding operations Strong leadership and people management skills, including managing offshore teams Advanced proficiency in data analytics and report tools Demonstrated success leading operational transformations or performance turnaround initiatives Exceptional problem-solving and root cause analysis skills At Zotec, you will enjoy a network of highly experienced professionals in an environment where you can operate with autonomy yet have the resources and backing of other professionals in a similar role. We’re seeking a Coding Quality Documentation Specialist to join us. As a Coding Quality Documentation Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of medical coding and provider documentation within Zotec Partners. What you’ll do: Audit & Compliance: Conduct thorough audits of charges to validate coding accuracy, prepare audit reports, and recommend process improvements to enhance compliance and quality outcomes. Medical Record Review: Evaluate medical records to ensure documentation accurately reflects the severity of illness, medical decision-making, and services rendered, supporting appropriate E/M level assignment, diagnostic testing, and procedures. Documentation Feedback: Deliver written summaries of findings to providers, including guidance on clinical documentation improvement (CDI), documentation standards, and the importance of complete and accurate health records. Provider & Coder Education: Provide timely, accurate responses to coding, documentation, and billing inquiries. Assist with onboarding new providers by reviewing coding and documentation practices, offering constructive feedback, and distributing educational resources. Deliver targeted training to coding personnel based on audit results and evolving regulatory requirements. Professional Development: Maintain active coding certification(s), stay current with coding guidelines, payer rules, and compliance regulations, and pursue continuous skill development in auditing, compliance, and documentation practices. Collaboration & Communication: Partner with cross-functional teams to support projects and departmental initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards. What you’ll bring to Zotec: Nationally recognized coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA) is required Minimum of 5 years of specialty-specific coding experience. At least 1 year in a senior or lead auditing role preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and tracking Familiarity with medical coding software and audit reporting tools Strong knowledge of coding guidelines, regulatory compliance, and clinical documentation requirements Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration across departments At Zotec, you will enjoy a network of highly experienced professionals in an environment where you can operate with autonomy yet have the resources and backing of other professionals in a similar role.
