Reach Shaily Sharma -- || 908-CALL-487-NOW-4334 Job Title: Mainframe Systems Analyst Location: 100 % REMOTE Duration : 12 months plus extensions Role Overview Partner with Product Managers and technical leads to reverse-engineer the current mainframe ACS batch application, capture business rules that move funds from checking/savings to delinquent loans, and define target requirements to integrate ACS with the cloud collections platform. You will also document and enable onboarding of two new data sources required for compliance. Key Responsibilities • Discovery & Reverse Engineering • Analyze COBOL/JCL batch flows, job dependencies, schedules, error/rollback behavior, and downstream consumers. • Extract business rules (delinquency thresholds, partial/priority postings, fee handling, exception scenarios). • Requirements & Design • Write BRDs/FRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria for ACS enhancements and cloud integration. • Produce data flow diagrams, interface control documents (ICDs), source target mappings, and data lineage. • Specify non-functional needs: batch window SLAs, file sizes, restart/recovery, observability, auditability. • Compliance Data Sources (2 new feeds) • Elicit data and control requirements with Compliance/Legal. • Define ingestion/validation, retention, masking, and encryption in transit/at rest. • Collaboration & Delivery • Groom the backlog with PM; maintain traceability (requirements test cases releases). • Support dev/test during build, SIT/UAT, cutover, and hypercare; lead walkthroughs and sign-off. Required Qualifications • 7+ years as a Business/System Analyst in financial services (collections/loans/deposits/payments). • Working literacy with mainframe artifacts (COBOL, JCL, file layouts, VSAM/DB2) and batch scheduling concepts. • Strong data analysis/SQL, mapping, profiling, and reconciliation skills. • Experience documenting APIs/file interfaces, security & privacy controls, and audit logging. • Tools: JIRA/ADO, Confluence, Visio/Lucidchart, Excel; nice-to-have: CA7/Control-M, Endevor/ChangeMan. Preferred • Prior work on collections or loan servicing systems. • Understanding of payment operations and exception processing (NSF, charge-off, reversals).
