This role is based in Bellingham, WA and offers the opportunity to lead complex mechanical construction projects while mentoring project teams and driving operational excellence. Position Overview The Senior Mechanical Project Manager will oversee major HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical piping projects from preconstruction through closeout. This individual will take ownership of financial performance, scheduling, team leadership, and client relationships. Projects may include healthcare, industrial, higher education, government, and large commercial facilities. Key Responsibilities • Lead full lifecycle management of complex mechanical construction projects • Oversee project budgets, cost forecasting, and profitability • Direct and mentor Project Managers, Engineers, and field teams • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and owners • Manage contracts, change orders, procurement, and risk mitigation • Ensure adherence to project schedules and milestone delivery • Maintain and strengthen long-term client relationships • Support strategic growth and business development efforts Qualifications • 10+ years of mechanical construction project management experience • Strong background in commercial HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, VRF systems, hydronic piping, air handling systems, etc.) • Experience managing large, complex, multi-million-dollar projects • Proven track record of maintaining margins and controlling costs • Leadership experience overseeing project teams • Strong understanding of scheduling software and project management tools • Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred Compensation & Benefits • Base Salary $120,000 – $170,000 (DOE) • Performance-based bonus structure • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage • 401(k) with company match • PTO and paid holidays • Long-term growth within a nationally respected mechanical contractor Ideal Candidate Profile • Strategic thinker with strong operational discipline • High-level communicator comfortable with executive stakeholders • Experienced in complex commercial or industrial mechanical projects • Motivated to mentor teams and contribute to regional growth • Seeking stability and long-term leadership opportunity This is a confidential search.
