Lead global and domestic transportation operations, manage freight contracts and relationships, ensure trade compliance, and drive continuous improvement in logistics and compliance processes. | Bachelor’s degree, 10+ years in transportation and trade compliance leadership, expertise in freight negotiation, U.S. Customs knowledge, experience with Epicor P21 and TMS, Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred, and ability to travel. | The Director of Transportation & Trade Compliance leads all aspects of international and domestic freight movement, global logistics strategy, and import/export compliance. This role is responsible for developing freight carrier relationships, overseeing trade compliance programs—including KORUS, USMCA, and First Sale—and driving cost-effective, compliant, and reliable transportation solutions across the supply chain. This leadership position drives results through an application of extensive knowledge of freight contracting, U.S. Customs regulations, and international trade policy, and leverages strong negotiation skills, deep trade compliance experience, and a continuous improvement mindset rooted in Lean and Six Sigma principles. Key Responsibilities Transportation Management • Lead global and domestic transportation operations across ocean, air, LTL, and FTL lanes. • Negotiate and manage international and domestic freight contracts, service level agreements, and rate structures. • Select, onboard, and manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, and brokers. • Drive cost savings, transit reliability, and freight lane optimization using data and KPIs. Trade Compliance • Ensure company-wide compliance with import/export regulations, including HTS classifications, valuation, and country of origin determination. • Oversee compliance programs for KORUS (Korea–U.S. Free Trade Agreement), USMCA, C-TPAT, and First Sale. • Act as primary contact with customs brokers and regulatory authorities. • Monitor and implement regulatory changes impacting international trade and U.S. CBP enforcement trends. Strategy & Continuous Improvement • Utilize Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) and TMS platforms to manage and monitor transportation and compliance workflows. • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methods. • Report transportation KPIs and compliance metrics to executive leadership. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, and IT. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Business; MBA preferred. • 10+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, and trade compliance leadership roles. • Extensive experience in freight contract negotiation and global logistics strategy. • Strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs, HTS, Incoterms, and international trade agreements including KORUS. • Experience with Epicor P21, TMS, and freight audit platforms. • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred. • Strong leadership, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills. • Ability to travel up to 10%, with some periodic international travel
