Compensation$85K - 130K a year

Lead social and creative teams to build authoritative brand narratives across specialized B2B communities while executing content and architecting long-term brand strategy. | 6 to 8+ years in brand, social, or creative strategy with proven authority-building for niche communities, proficiency in AI tools, strong writing, and leadership skills. | ABOUT WORKWEEK: Workweek is revolutionizing how business leaders connect, learn, and operate by integrating distinct personalities, unparalleled expertise, and a vibrant community into a one-of-a-kind professional networking platform. OUR APPROACH: At Workweek, we build brands and audiences in specialized B2B sectors by providing expert content crafted by industry practitioners who have actually done the job. Once credibility and a sizable audience are established through our unique content, we further support these sectors by offering exclusive professional memberships. These memberships provide category-leading value, enabling leaders to connect with peers, access a comprehensive library of educational content, and utilize tools and services that streamline daily operations. ABOUT THE ROLE: We are looking for a Director of Narrative & Brand to be the “soul” to the growth function. At Workweek, our brand isn't a style guide or a logo. It’s the collective authority of our communities. Your mission is to ensure our networks in HR, Healthcare, Marketing, Ecom, Fintech, and beyond are recognized as the undisputed "must-reads" of their industries. You have exquisite taste and an innate ability to know what copy, design or ideas will work and resonate with each of our communities. You are a master storyteller who finds as much joy in the execution as you do in the strategy. You are the rare individual who can architect a 12-month brand vision with our CEO in the morning and jump into a CMS to polish a high-stakes launch email in the afternoon. This is a high-floor, high-ceiling role. You will oversee our social and creative teams, but you are a "player-coach" at heart. You’ll work hand-in-hand with our Product, Content, and Growth leads to ensure that every touchpoint whether it’s digital, social, or IRL. We want all these to feel like a cohesive, elite Workweek experience. You’ll report to the VP of Marketing. You’ll be enabled by AI, but not reliant on it. You know how to use it to get more done, but not in a way where final products feel produced by AI. Note: All Workweek employees may work remotely, all work must be done in English and availability to meet during the Central Time Zone workday is required. WHAT YOU'LL DO: * Lead with Taste: Oversee our social and creative teams, providing the strategic "vibe-check" and creative direction needed to turn our channels into high-value community hubs. * Architect Authority: Build the narrative frameworks that turn our individual communities into the authoritative "North Star" brands for their specific industries. * Galvanize Major Moments: Turn product launches, industry shifts, and network milestones into massive marketing events that dominate the conversation across social, creative assets, and IRL activations. * Operate with No Ego: Whether it’s writing a high-stakes launch email, pulling a performance report, or crafting a social post, you step in wherever the narrative needs you. You know that no task is too small when the goal is excellence. * Bridge the Network: Work daily with our Product and Content leads to ensure our narrative isn't just "marketing", it's baked into the actual product and editorial experience. * Strategic Alchemy: Partner with the VP, Marketing to ensure brand efforts fuel growth without turning our communities into conversion-focused factories. * The Workweek Playbook: Build the operational systems for storytelling that allow us to move at startup speed without losing our soul or our standards. * Live the Brand: Be a high-signal member of Marketingland, our own community for marketers. You don’t just market to them; you are a peer among them. QUALIFICATIONS: * 6 to 8+ years in brand, social, or creative strategy, with a record of building authority for niche communities or media brands. * Writing you would defend: You can write a brand manifesto people forward to a colleague and a marketing email people actually open. Both matter, and most candidates can only do one. * Working fluency with AI: You use these tools daily, you have specific opinions about where they help and where they produce garbage, and you can teach a team to use them without the output sounding like everything else on the internet. * Editorial conviction: You take ideas from anywhere, and you can reject most of them and explain why in one sentence. * A player-coach: You have managed teams and you still want to write the copy yourself. * Fluency across formats: You can carry a voice from a 280-character post to an event setup to a piece of premium swag. * Real collaboration: You lead through influence across Product, Sales, and Content, and people enjoy working with you. * Comfort with ambiguity: You start things without waiting for permission. BENEFITS: * Competitive pay (we don't pay based on location, we assign value to the role) * Equity in Workweek * Remote operations with the ability to work in the time zone of your choice (or work IRL in our Austin, TX office) * Unlimited PTO with a minimum of 3 days/quarter used * 100% health insurance coverage, 75% coverage for dependents, and $150/month towards an HSA (or $150/month health stipend if insurance not used) * 120 days of parental leave to use within one year of childbirth (available 12 months after your start date and only available every 365 days) * 401(k) plan with 3.5% company match * $500 one-time stipend for any home office needs used after the first 90 days * 5-week sabbatical after 4 years on staff * 2 volunteering days per year * 1x/year in-person team retreat * $100/month book stipend Note: At Workweek, we’re passionate about building a diverse team. We care deeply about diversity, equality, and inclusion and strive to build a culture where everyone, from any background, feels included, supported, and free to be themselves. If your experience is this close to what we’re looking for, please consider applying. Experience comes in many forms – skills are transferable, and passion goes a long way. We know that diversity makes for the best problem-solving and creative thinking, which is why we’re dedicated to adding new perspectives to the team and encourage everyone to apply *At this time we do not offer visa sponsorship or assistance.

Compensation$55K - 90K a year

Oversee company's public presence across digital channels and manage marketing for virtual and live events to drive advertiser leads and brand growth. | Minimum 4 years marketing experience with strong B2B and consumer marketing knowledge, proficiency in social media and event marketing, and ability to edit AI-generated content. ABOUT THE ROLE: We’re looking for a creative, internet-native Brand Manager in Austin to run Workweek’s public presence. You’ll report to the VP of Marketing and own how our brand shows up across our website, email campaigns, social channels, and partner events. You understand B2B marketing, but you hate standard B2B playbooks. You bring the best tactics from consumer marketing with storytelling, community building, viral distribution, and speed to make B2B content feel fun, human, and impossible to ignore. You’ll use tools like Claude and Claude Design to draft and build fast, but your taste ensures every asset, copy deck, and campaign is something we’re proud of. Note: All Workweek employees may work remotely, all work must be done in English and availability to meet during the Central Time Zone workday is required. WHAT YOU'LL DO: 1. Brand & Digital Touchpoints * Website: Manage workweek.com day-to-day, making sure positioning, creator updates, and lead paths are clear so site visitors turn into inbound advertiser leads. * Product Marketing: Plan and write product launches for new features across the Workweek Partner Platform. * Case Studies & Video: Turn advertiser wins into short-form videos, case studies, and social proof points that our sales team can send to prospects. 2. Event Marketing & Partner Emails * Annual Upfronts Marketing: Run the marketing campaign for our annual Upfronts—writing emails, creating social hype, and filling the room with targeted brand partners (event production and logistics are handled separately). * Virtual & Community Events Marketing: Create events for our advertisers that drive community and retention   * Email Campaigns: Write and launch regular email campaigns to our advertising partners to promote creators, share insights, and pull in new advertising deals. 3. Social & Executive Channels * Workweek Social: Own daily posts, copy, and visual style for Workweek’s main social accounts, borrowing consumer social tactics to build a real audience around a B2B media brand. * Executive Support: Work with company leaders to shape their social posts and align team accounts with larger brand pushes. HOW WE MEASURE SUCCESS IN THE ROLE: * Inbound Leads: Volume of qualified advertiser inquiries coming through the website, email campaigns, and events. * PR & Media Coverage: Press hits, mentions, and overall visibility across B2B and media industry news. * Social Reach & Engagement: Growth in followers, replies, shares, and clicks across brand and executive social accounts. * Event Registrations: Attendance numbers and buyer lead pipeline generated from virtual events and the Upfronts. QUALIFICATIONS: * 4+ Years in Marketing * B2B Knowledge + Consumer Playbook: You know how B2B buyers think and buy, but you steal the best consumer marketing tactics. You’ll build funnels while using community, culture, design, and entertaining narrative to run campaigns that actually get attention. * Social-First Mindset: You spend real time on X, LinkedIn, and short-form video. You understand how modern brands grow through individual creators rather than logo-driven corporate posts. * Strong Taste Level: You know how to prompt AI tools to speed up work, but you edit heavily so nothing reads like generic generated text. * Event Marketing Experience: Proven track record of running campaign rollouts that get people to sign up for and attend virtual or live events. * Austin-Based: Located in (or moving to) Austin, TX to work alongside the team in person.
