Manage customer accounts, develop relationships, oversee order processing, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction. | Proven experience in sales or account management within the fresh produce industry, excellent communication skills, and organizational abilities. | The Account Manager plays a key role within Westfalia Fruit's Commercial team, building and strengthening relationships with customers in the fresh produce sector. This position is responsible for driving sales growth, managing accounts, and ensuring the highest standards of customer service. Responsibilities Sales & Account Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with both existing and potential customers. Conduct regular customer follow-ups and engagement to understand customer requirements, preferences, and strategic goals. Actively research and analyse customer needs, industry trends, and competitive offerings. Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, offering prompt solutions and addressing concerns. Strive to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty through excellent service and proactive issue resolution. Order Processing: Oversee the end-to-end process for customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing. Regularly communicate with customers to confirm order details, delivery schedules, and any adjustments. Coordinate with Production and Quality Assurance departments to ensure order specifications are met, including special packaging requirements and quality standards. Generate production orders in alignment with customer-specific requirements. Ensure that necessary packaging and labeling are in place to meet customer preferences and compliance standards. Complete all necessary administrative tasks, including order confirmation, invoicing, and record-keeping. Regularly review order details for accuracy and maintain up-to-date information in internal systems. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure smooth order processing and issue resolution. Maintain regular communication with various departments across the business. Work with the broader Commercial team to develop and implement initiatives that enhance the overall customer experience. Regularly share customer feedback with relevant departments to drive process improvements. Proven experience in Sales, Account Management, or Sales Support roles. Strong understanding and experience in the fresh produce industry. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective client relationships. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently. Flexibility to work varied hours, including occasional Saturdays. This role partners closely with Sales, Logistics, Ripening, Finance, and emerging E-commerce initiatives to ensure seamless execution from order to delivery. The ideal candidate brings strong produce industry knowledge, sound judgment, and a customer-led mindset—balancing operational excellence with commercial awareness. As our e-commerce capabilities continue to evolve, this role will help shape processes, identify improvement opportunities, and support scalable growth while maintaining Westfalia’s high standards of integrity, partnership, and accountability. Act as a trusted partner to the sales team, supporting customer relationships and day-to-day account execution with a high degree of ownership and accountability. Serve as a key point of contact for customers on pricing, order requirements, inventory availability, and issue resolution. Collaborate closely with logistics, ripening, and shipping teams to align customer needs with operational execution and proactively escalate risks or exceptions. Manage end-to-end order processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with customer expectations. Monitor inventory levels and market conditions, proactively communicating supply constraints or opportunities to sales and customers. Support the preparation of sales reports, customer insights, and performance tracking to inform commercial decision-making. Partner with Finance to support invoicing, AR documentation, and file verification, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Support and help shape Westfalia’s emerging e-commerce operations, including transaction management, process refinement, and customer adoption as the platform evolves. Analyze and report on market trends, industry volumes, and market share across key origins (U.S., Mexico, Peru, Chile, Colombia). 3–5 years of experience in customer success, sales support, operations, or accounting, preferably within fresh produce or agriculture. Strong working knowledge of produce supply chains, perishability, and seasonal market dynamics; avocado experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with perishable inventory and supply-demand volatility. Experience supporting sales teams or key accounts. Experience supporting or launching new processes, platforms, or tools in a growth or transformation environment is a plus. Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working across multiple systems and evolving technologies.
