The Patient Registration Representative will accurately perform administrative duties required for patient registration, including entering demographic and insurance information and collecting copays. As a liaison to patients, the community, and healthcare professionals, this position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills to ensure delivery of the highest quality customer service. The Patient Registration Representative work environment is high-volume, fast-paced and requires the ability to greet and check patients in upon arrival and provide unsurpassed customer service to patients and families presenting to the physician practice or hospital for appointments, surgeries, therapies, or procedures. Registration and checkout are completed at the centralized welcome desks at hospital entrances and medical office buildings as well as at the check in-desk within the physician practices. The Patient Registration Representative is responsible for collecting point of service payments and may also be responsible for scheduling appointments. The ED Patient Registration Representative accurately performs a variety of administrative duties required for patient registration including entering essential demographic and insurance information, collecting copays, obtaining required signatures, and resolving errors on accounts before they are sent for billing. As a liaison to patients, the community, and healthcare professionals, this position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills to ensure delivery of the highest quality customer service. The emergency department team works in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with medical emergencies, including cardiac complaints, stroke symptoms, traumas, and other emergencies. It requires the ability to provide extraordinary and compassionate customer service to patients and family members presenting to the emergency department. Our team initiates the arrival process at the welcome desk and completes the registration at the patient's bedside after the patient has seen a care provider. Emergency department registration staff partner with the clinical staff to help patients receive personal attention and care as efficiently as possible.
