Position Overview: The Buyer will be responsible for supporting and executing Vesta’s product assortment strategy via proprietary product development pipelines and off-the-shelf sourcing. Reporting to the Head of Product/VP, Manufacturing & Supply Chain, this role balances creative vision with tactical execution and financial acumen. The Buyer will contribute to quarterly product strategies by interfacing with domestic and international vendors, identifying new product opportunities and meeting demand and margin goals. Collaborating closely with product development, inventory, operations, and design teams, the Buyer will help deliver an assortment that is on-brand, in-stock, and a true reflection of Vesta’s commitment to good design, quality craftsmanship, and impeccable service. Partner with the Head of Product to execute seasonal and quarterly buying strategies that meet aesthetic, financial, and operational goals. Manage product development projects alongside VP Manufacturing while identifying off-the-shelf product opportunities that compliment proprietary products. Manage off-the-shelf vendor relationships including negotiating pricing, terms, lead times, and order quantities, while fostering collaborative, long-term partnership for the business. Review vendor proposals and product samples; assess quality, design, and value to ensure alignment with Vesta standards. Work closely with Director of Supply Chain to forecast demand, monitoring OTB, purchase orders, reorders, markdowns, and assortment adjustments Analyze assortment performance and curation against staging cost per square foot targets and ultimate sell through Collaborate with design and operations teams to ensure an assortment that supports cross-functional design, sales, and operations needs. Identify and present assortment gaps and new product opportunities to Head of Product by staying current on market trends, designer needs, and industry innovations. Provide clear reporting and insights on vendor performance, assortment health, and business opportunities to the Head of Product. Maintain organized, detail-oriented records of vendor communications and quarterly assortment planning. Demonstrate a passion for good design and a discerning eye for product, contributing to Vesta’s reputation for a timeless, high-quality, and well-curated home furnishings assortment. Approach responsibilities with flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit, always looking for ways to innovate and move the business forward. BA/BS Degree Preferred; or equivalent work experience. 5-7 years Buying/Merchandising experience. Proficiency in design software and strong attention to detail are essential. | Vesta is seeking talented Junior Designers / Project Managers to join our growing team in San Francisco, Los Angeles and NYC. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-end residential and commercial design projects while gaining experience in FF&E sourcing, space planning, and project management. Responsibilities: Design & Administration Coordination Work with the Senior Designers on creating client presentations, material and finish schedules, and design documentation. Assist in selecting furniture, lighting, fabrics, and accessories that align with the project’s design direction and client preferences. Support the development of furniture layouts and customization details with the design team. Participate in internal review meetings and assist in implementing feedback. Manage creating Proposal Packages for client review and approvals. Coordinate with Expediting and Accounting teams on client and vendor payments reconciliations. Manage and update expediting and project budget reports. Vendor Coordination Maintain relationships with vendors to request quotes, ensure all details and documents are updated for fabrication, and manage production schedules Assist in reviewing design details, finishes, and customizations during furniture production. Ensure final products meet design specifications and make minor adjustments as needed. Installation & Project Execution Provide on-site support during furniture installation, ensuring proper placement per the design plan. Assist in final styling and visual merchandising for project completion. Participate in post-installation reviews to confirm all elements meet client expectations. Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field. 1- 4 years of experience in FF&E design, preferably in residential or commercial projects. Strong understanding of space planning, construction drawings, and custom furniture design. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator). Experience with Studio Designer and Google Suite is a plus. Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Must be able to travel locally for site visits, vendor meetings, and installations.
