Drive growth and manage sales strategy for Vertiv rack solutions across a regional territory. | Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 2+ years sales experience, strong communication, organizational skills, and willingness to travel extensively. | POSITION SUMMARY The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for driving growth of Vertiv Rack Solutions - specifically Great Lakes Case & Cabinet offerings through direct engagement with end users, channel partners, and local Vertiv offices within the assigned territory. This role focuses on expanding rack share in data center, SLED, and enterprise environments while creating pull through for complementary Vertiv solutions including rPDU, UPS, thermal, and services. The RSM will lead regional go to market strategy, develop partner capability, and influence key decision makers across IT, facilities, engineering, and procurement. RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop, present, and execute a territory business plan that aligns to Vertiv growth objectives for Great Lakes rack solutions. • Drive incremental revenue through channel partners, distributors, and direct engagement with end users. • Maintain balanced focus on both existing accounts and new logo acquisition (50/50 mix). • Build and manage a healthy pipeline within CRM through collaboration with local Vertiv offices and partners. • Engage and navigate all levels of end user organizations including executives, IT leadership, facility managers, and project teams. • Conduct site walks aligned with edge and key accelerated compute initiatives, support solution scoping and design collaboration with SE resources. • Develop a decision maker matrix, account plans, and go to market strategy for key verticals. • Support partner development activities including training, enablement, and joint selling motions. • Influence Channel Account Managers within local Vertiv offices to ensure alignment and effective execution. • Strengthen relationships with regional and national distribution partners supporting Great Lakes rack products. • Drive partner performance, competencies, and market engagement across the territory. • Maintain accurate pricing, forecasting, activity reporting, and funnel management. • Provide consistent feedback to leadership regarding competitive trends, wins/losses, and product needs. • Coordinate activities with Inside Sales Representatives to maximize visibility and closure of key rack opportunities. • Support regional trade show strategy, including event selection, logistics, and coverage. • Ensure timely, high quality customer engagement and post sales follow up to maintain strong customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). • 2+ years of sales experience. • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and visual media). • Ability to build strong relationships with IT, facilities, engineering, and procurement stakeholders. • Highly organized with strong pipeline discipline, forecasting accuracy, and follow-through. • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capable of resolving contract and product issues. • Ability to adapt quickly to changing market needs and internal processes. • Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned territory PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Demonstrated ability to manage a territory with heavy partner and end user engagement. • Experience in data center, IT infrastructure, or related markets. • Working knowledge of the data center industry and channel ecosystem. • Able to lead multiple offices, partners, and projects simultaneously in a matrixed environment. • Experience selling into Fortune 500, enterprise, SLED, and colocation customers. • Understanding of rack systems, rPDUs, UPS, thermal, and edge infrastructure environments. • Familiarity with Vertiv’s representative model and product ecosystem. Field Support Engineers are product experts that provide input into technical training, technical documentation and manuals, They help customers resolve precision cooling problems that no one else can solve as a resource of escalation. They are instrumental in managing the Field Trial process for introducing new products to the field. They perform factory Start Up of XD and potentially other product lines that are more highly technical than typical Liebert models. The Precision Cooling System Specialist must be able solve problems with minimal technical support as they are considered the product expert. Perform and manage field commissioning procedures for electrical systems, including moderately complex systems including data centers and other mission critical facilities. Manage and lead commissioning projects, as well as other commissioning engineers would be a plus. Be self-motivated and proactive on projects with limited supervision. Position is very mentally demanding and requires candidate to be self- aware. RESPONSIBILITIES Perform all aspects of commissioning of electrical power distribution system. Experience with generators, uninterruptible power systems, static switches, power distribution units, automatic transfer switches, switchgear with PLC/microprocessor control is preferred. Perform commissioning design reviews. Perform commissioning submittal reviews. Understand contract documents (i.e. drawings and specifications). Understand Sequence of Operation. Develop pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems commissioning scripts. Execute commissioning scripts. Track and report commissioning issues throughout the project. Develop and assemble final commissioning reports. Operate safely in a construction atmosphere performing commissioning operations. Play an important role in each commissioning project. Perform as lead on small or moderately sized commissioning projects. Be responsible for commissioning communications and updates. Insure project schedules are being met. Maintain strong client relationships. Provide some project management. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of ASHRAE commissioning industry standards and a Commissioning certification is preferred. Knowledge of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) process for New Construction and Existing Buildings and LEED Accredited Professional is preferred. Knowledge and theoretical understanding of building electrical systems, including normal and emergency power distribution systems, critical power systems, generators, UPS’s and batteries, monitoring and alarm systems, automatic transfer switches, static switches, power distribution unit, metering, motor control centers, and interlocks. Background and experience in operation and maintenance of all types of switchgear through 600V class. Through the 15KV class preferred. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards, such as OSHA and NFPA. Plan, schedule, and perform work for mid to large size projects and program. Complete projects consistently on time and under budget. Cultivate effective relationships with existing and potential key clients, customers and contractors. Requires a high degree of communication, supervisory, and organization skills. Communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with clients and peers. Communicate technical or project related subjects accurately via email. Performs well as part of a team of various groups and disciplines. Good judgment, dependable, performs on projects with technical expertise. Strong computer skills including editing, formatting in Microsoft Word and Excel, use of Internet for standards/products/ manufacturer research, and operation of computer-controlled test equipment. Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and night work. Must be available for out-of-town travel of up to several weeks at a time. International travel may be required. Strong computer skills including editing, formatting, and using templates in Microsoft Word, use of Internet for standards/products/manufacturer research, and operation of computer-controlled test equipment.
