Position Summary Under the direction and guidance of the Director, Information Services, and in cooperation with cross-functional/departmental teams, this experienced software development/systems analyst professional is responsible for developing and/or supporting a broad range of software applications, integration solutions and systems for the organization. In addition to their own technical work, the Team Lead coordinates and provides oversite of the day-to-day work of a technical sub-team. The Team Lead mentors team members in developing their professional and technical skills, helps ensure that the team is optimally positioned to support the needs of the blood and recruitment service lines, as well as the extended IS team. In conjunction with their Director, this individual is responsible for the productivity, skills mix, quality, and compliance of their assigned team. APPROXIMATE ALLOCATION OF TIME: This position spends 20% overseeing teamwork assignments and activities, 10% coordinating with IS and/or service line peers & leadership, 65% on direct technical duties, 5% on administrative tasks. Responsibilities As an experienced (Senior/Principal) technical member of the software/systems development staff, performs duties as aligned with that role, with time adjusted and prorated accordingly per the Team Lead responsibilities. Responsible for the daily oversight of their assigned IS Team to develop and provision compliant and reliable systems and IS service delivery for their group. Provides input to IS strategic planning and budgeting based on business needs and changes. In collaboration with the IS management team, establishes and enforces technical priorities and upholds Versiti IS standards, policies, and procedures. Serves as the point person for escalated issues for their area of technical responsibility Helps ensure they and their team meets established timelines for project implementation and completion. Provides input to, and supports staff hiring, training and development. Assists in coaching associates to address development needs and provides input to performance reviews. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Management Information Systems preferred. Work experienced coupled with other degree background will be considered Experience 5-8 years of progressive responsibility and experience in application development and support, with at least 3 years of demonstrated systems analysis and design experience. Broad technical knowledge with demonstrated information technology leadership skills to influence and oversee sub-team responsibilities Experience in transfusion medicine, laboratory or healthcare desired Systems integration experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of structured software development and support lifecycle disciplines. Experience working in a Regulated industry like healthcare, blood banking etc. with knowledge of privacy and compliance regulations such as HIPAA/privacy, FDA Code of Federal Regulation (CFR), etc. Good communication and listening skills, with an ability to translate business requests and requirements into proposed technical solutions. Understands the need to balance technical solutions with practical business needs and short-term vs long-term approaches. Strong collaborator and team player, with the ability to partner well with users, peers, internal and external/vendor partners, and management. Motivated, self-starter, self-directed, results oriented. “Can-do” attitude and team player/coach Experience working in a matrix environment preferred. Licenses and Certifications ITIL Foundations v3 preferred Tools and Technology Minimum 3 years Oracle forms/reports development Database development: Oracle and MS SQL Server; DDL/DML; PLSQL, SQL to develop queries, stored procedures, database packages. Responsible for operating the mobile drive vehicle and transporting the mobile staff in a safe and efficient manner.
