About the role: At Vantage, the Construction SDI Senior Underwriter is a member of our Construction team. The mission is to add creativity to tech-enabled efficiency and robust analytics to address risks others avoid. This role will be responsible for underwriting according to authority level and established guidelines. This role reports to our SVP, Head of Construction-SDI, and is a remote or hybrid opportunity based in one of Vantage’s office locations. Vantage’s US colleagues can work anywhere in the United States (excluding US territories and possessions). The base salary expectation for this role is between $100,000 and $175,000. The actual base salary and title for the selected candidate may be higher, commensurate with the candidate's experience and expectations. Responsibilities & Accountabilities: • Reviewing submissions to ensure alignment with risk appetite and business strategy. • Generate new business by working collaboratively with brokers and prospective SDI clients. • Be market-facing by cultivating new broker relationships. • Analyze complex risks thoroughly and effectively. • Perform underwriting activities associated with managing all underwriting transactions, service standards, compliance rules, and documentation. • Demonstrate a customer service mindset by proactively engaging internal and external contacts. • Collaborate and correspond with internal and external contacts to achieve a high level of service and meet client expectations. • Interact directly with various business partners and internal departments. • Meet departmental service standards in place for each process. • Perform other duties and special projects assigned under minimal supervision. • As a new company, we fully acknowledge the scope of each colleague’s job will change over time. Ideal Candidate Profile: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required. • At least three to seven years of relevant industry experience is required. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Expert skills using Microsoft Excel and Word. • Ability to process and adapt to change in a rapidly growing new company environment. About the role: The VP of Solution Architecture serves as the leader working with the Chief Data, Analytics and Technology Officer (CDATO), Chief Information Officer (CIO), Chief Data Officer (CDO) and Data Analytics & Technology (DA&T) Product Teams to ensure all DA&T platforms comply with approved technology solutions as well as adopting new standards when identified. This position establishes and maintains all technical standards as the Enterprise Architecture Committee Chair as well as developing and maintaining the enterprises’ technical roadmap. This role also plays a critical role in the execution of enterprise AI Strategy. The VP of Solution Architecture reports to the CIO. The base salary expectation for this role is between $220,000 and $290,000. Actual base salary for the selected candidate may be higher commensurate with candidate experience and expectations. Responsibilities & Accountabilities: • Define and maintain enterprise architecture across applications, data, and infrastructure to support underwriting, claims, and risk analytics platforms, ensuring close alignment with business strategy and regulatory requirements. • Design and document reusable cloud-native architectural patterns to support application, data and infrastructure speed to market and scalability. • Establish standards and best practices for operational excellence including high availability and resiliency, observability, and cost efficiency ensuring that the application and infrastructure landscape is cost optimized. • Establish and sustain governance processes for the acquisition and introduction of new services and technologies and ensure that the enterprise-wide application portfolio is tracked and maintained. • Define and advocate for the generative enterprise AI strategy driving high levels of engagement across the company and engineering fit for purpose solutions to use AI to deliver operational excellence and enhanced business decisions. • Collaborate with business, actuarial, data science, and engineering teams to embed machine learning and generative AI into core insurance workflows using OpenAI, Azure Cognitive Services and AI Foundry, and other emerging technologies. • Deliver implementations of AI-enabled insurance solutions, including prompt engineering, model fine-tuning or training, benchmarking, integration, and responsible AI practices ensuring explainability and regulatory compliance. • Understand and interact with business, analytics and technical stakeholders to ensure the consistent application of policies and standards across all technology projects, systems, and services. • Conduct architecture and code reviews to ensure applications and AI-enabled systems meet performance, scalability, and compliance standards, including explainability and auditability. • Host the Enterprise Architecture Committee which reviews and approves all new technologies and systems. • Maintain the Application Portfolio Management Tool and periodically verify accuracy with the various DA&T product teams. • Develop and maintain the DA&T Technical roadmap ensuring future scalability and adoption of Vantage’s technical solutions. • As a new company we fully acknowledge the scope of each colleague’s job will change over time. Ideal Candidate Profile: • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a technology-related field required. • 10+ years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture, with at least 3 years in AI strategy or engineering roles. • Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and microservices design within regulated industries, preferably insurance or financial services. • Direct experience with AI/ML technologies including LLMs, model orchestration, and deployment pipelines. • Strong understanding of insurance domain processes such as underwriting, claims, and risk modeling. • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high level of personal integrity. • Innovative thinking and leadership with an ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams including business stakeholders. • Experience with contract and vendor negotiations and management including managed services. • Experience in Agile (scaled) software development or other best in class development practices. • Experience with information security, enterprise architecture, technology operations and data protection programs in a Cloud computing environment.
