Develop and maintain secure, scalable full stack applications for environmental data tracking in an Agile environment. | 7+ years full stack development experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, PostgreSQL, Agile methodologies, and strong communication skills. | Job Description: • Support Valiant Solutions’ agile software development practice for an environmentally focused Federal Government client • Develop and maintain information systems that facilitate tracking and reporting of environmental data • Help ensure information systems are secure, compliant with accessibility standards, and supportive of agency business processes • Participate in all phases of the Agile software development life cycle, including planning, design, development, testing, and deployment • Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver software applications • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget • Follow software development methodologies and best practices • Ensure code is maintainable, scalable, and testable • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, user manuals, and release notes • Foster collaboration and continuous improvement • Stay current with emerging software development technologies and trends • Recommend tools and techniques to improve the development process • Apply UX and UI design principles Requirements: • Minimum of 7 years as a Full Stack Software Developer • Experience with cloud services, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS), to manage scalable and secure applications • Proven experience developing and maintaining web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React or Angular • Strong knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js • Strong experience with PostgreSQL, focusing on database design, optimization, and management • Experience implementing an event-driven architecture • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities • Solid understanding and practical experience with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment • Strong commitment to developing high-quality software products • Understanding of UX and UI design principles • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred but not required • Experience using RabbitMQ is highly desirable • Experience with Jira, Trello, Microsoft Teams or Slack, Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, CircleCI, React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, and JSON • Ability to work during core business hours aligned with coworkers and Valiant’s clients • Quiet, distraction-free workspace with adequate internet • Disclosure and written approval for current or future outside employment or other professional activities Benefits: • Valiant pays 99% of the Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage for Full-time Employees • Valiant contributes 25% towards Health Coverage for Family and Dependents • 100% Paid Short Term Disability and Life Insurance Policy for Full-time Employees • 100% Paid Certifications • 401K Matching up to 4% • Paid Time Off • Paid Federal Holidays • Wellness & Fitness Program • Valiant University – Online Education and Training Portal • FSA programs for: Medical Costs, Dependent Care, Transit, and Parking • Referral Bonuses • Work-life balance • Career development opportunities • Remote work
