Oversee and manage mortgage servicing compliance programs, conduct audits, and collaborate across departments to ensure adherence to regulations. | Requires 7+ years of mortgage compliance experience, in-depth regulatory knowledge, and development of compliance programs, which do not align with your experience. | The Director of Mortgage Servicing Compliance will be responsible for overseeing and managing the compliance function related to mortgage servicing. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of mortgage servicing regulations, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in compliance management. This role is for an individual contributor and requires full-time, 100% onsite attendance at our Pontiac office. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs for mortgage servicing operations. • Monitor and interpret changes in federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting mortgage servicing. • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies. • Collaborate with internal departments, including Legal, Risk Management, Servicing, and Operations, to address compliance issues and implement corrective actions. • Provide guidance and training to staff on compliance-related matters and ensure ongoing education and awareness. • Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and regulatory agencies as required. • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory examinations and audits. • Investigate and resolve compliance-related complaints and issues. • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in mortgage servicing compliance. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field; Law degree preferred. • Minimum of 7 years of experience in mortgage servicing compliance. • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local mortgage servicing regulations, including RESPA, TILA, CFPB guidelines, FCRA, FDCPA, SCRA, State Mortgage Servicing Laws, and other relevant laws. • In-depth knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA, and private investor servicing requirements. • Proven experience in developing and implementing servicing compliance programs, policies, and controls. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization. • Strong leadership and team management abilities. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Professional certifications such as Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or similar are a plus.
