Support business operations through administrative tasks, research, and project participation in a hybrid internship setting. | High school diploma or some college coursework, ability to multi-task, strong communication skills, and a professional attitude. | Why join this team United Nations Federal Credit Union is looking for eager interns to support our business operations during the summer of 2026. By joining our internship program, you will have the opportunity to work closely with an assigned department, alongside colleagues who will provide you with hands-on projects, and daily tasks. You will acquire the necessary skills to development your professional competencies needed for future career success and acclimation to the corporate workforce. In addition, you will gain insight to management styles and organizational culture at the corporate level. UNFCU is dedicated to providing a well-rounded program with valuable work experiences that cultivates new talent. We currently have internships available in the following departments: Corporate Marketing, Enterprise Risk Management, Global Impact & Inclusion, Information Technology and Lending Operations. This 10-week summer internship program is open to college level students and will run from June - August. Interns will work a hybrid schedule, requiring 1-2 days per week onsite in our Long Island City, NY headquarters. This is a $25/hour paid internship. Course credit also available upon successful completion of the program. To be considered for the internship positions, please submit your application by 13 February 2026 at 5PM ET. What you'll do • Provides entry- to intermediate-level administrative and operational support in alignment with the functions of assigned department • Participates in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise while supporting the needs of the organization. • Receives guidance, training, and mentoring from professional personnel in planning and carrying out activities and assignments. • Conducts original research and prepares reports based on findings, to include recommendations or alternative proposals for action. • May participate in related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate to the specific objectives of the assigned department • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned What we're seeking • High School diploma, General Education Development (GED), or high school equivalent certificate • Some college coursework required • Previous internship experience a plus • Ability to multi-task and utilize multiple systems simultaneously • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Must possess a professional attitude and strong desire to learn • Ability to work independently and in a team environment Who we are UNFCU is a global not-for-profit financial institution that serves the UN community. The Mortgage Sales Assistant supports the team with administrative tasks related to the originations process, including member applications, scheduling, and documentation. They also prepare sales tracking reports and assist with compliance and promotional activities. | Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience in a residential lending environment and possess strong PC skills, particularly in MS Office. An associate's degree or equivalent experience is preferred, along with excellent member service and organizational skills. | Why join this team This position is focused on the administrative side of the originations process and is responsible for supporting the rest of the team in this capacity. This includes assisting with member applications, appointment scheduling, member documentation, reporting and rates. What you'll do Regardless of seniority or role, uphold UNFCU’s mission, core values, and guiding principles by providing an exceptional service experience to colleagues and members alike through consistent demonstration of our service excellence behaviors. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly sales tracking reports. Import new loans from LOS to FICS. Compile competitive market analysis as needed. Schedule appointments for Loan Officers. Respond to telephone calls and emails and assist with general inquiries related to interest rates, closing costs and loan programs. Review and process paperwork submitted by Loan Officers and members. Scan application documents into document management system. Review and distribute incoming emails and correspondence. Assist with promotional activities, i.e. seminars, webinars, Realtor Days, etc. Perform all clerical functions for the department (i.e. filing, maintenance of databases, photocopying, meeting minutes and mailing thank you letters and promotional giveaways). Participate in credit union training programs and any other functions as requested. Uphold UNFCU’s compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures, including: Maintain awareness of and report suspicious activity Complete all relevant BSA reports promptly and accurately (e.g. CTRs, SARs) Complete annual BSA/AML/OFAC training Perform additional responsibilities as assigned What we're seeking 1 year of experience in a first or second residential lending origination environment Strong PC skills Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Work, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Prior experience with mortgage LOS a plus Associates degree or equivalent experience What makes you stand out Excellent member service skills Strong sales orientation Good organizational and communication skills Who we are UNFCU is a global not-for-profit financial institution that serves the UN community.
